QUOTE(SSJBen @ Feb 11 2010, 07:07 PM) As long as the size is 2.5" and is SATA, you're good to go. As for backing up, your PC won't recognize the HDD from your PS3 because it isn't shown as a "correct" external device. Just use a thumbdrive or something else in those lines (memory sticks/cards, another different external HDD formatted in FAT32) and backup from your PS3 instead. i try to use external harddisk.but failing at the middle of backing up data.samethings happen when i try to save my pictures to the ext hdd.can i save game data only to the hdd.and how ti restore back the game data to the new ps3 hdd. |

Got myself a Western Digital (WD)500GB 5400rpm for RM259. So far no problem, recommended (if you're okay to go over budget by RM10

one quick question guise.
let say i've a external 500gb hdd for backup purpose. format to fat32 so it can read. so.. my ps3 is 80gb. i do a backup into my 500gb hdd. since my 500gb still got so much extra space; can i like still use this hdd to store other data inside?? will it screw up the ps3 back up ?? any idea? you can only store data that is recognized by PS3. That is why if you surf the net via
PS3's browser, and if you want to save a file which is not recongized by it, it will ask you to out a pendrive in order to save it. |
