dont generalised.

do not abuse drug is more appropriate comment.

medicine is a drug. common medicine during pregnancy, e.g. to prevent morning sickness, heartburn, cough etc doesnt harm the foetus.

an advise for those who are pregnant.. Do lots of reading bout knowledge and dont ever watch a horror movie or triller story..
you might get shock and it is not good for your baby..

For PAPA and DADDY out there.. Love ur wife and give full of love for ur future baby...

For MAMA and MUMMY, eat lots of fruit. its got for your baby. perhap, when they come to this world, they will be healthier and muahh..muah..

for normal birth some cannot stand the pain and yes they use drug but usually not good for the baby as the baby wont cry when come out and the doctor want the baby to cry to see if anything wrong. This is what i been told by my mom whose a nurse. Foe operation like me yeah the doc do inject me with drug twice at my back nerve to numb my below body.

So, the drug numbs the body nearly to the hips area? And that helps you relieve the pain and make the labour easier?

Well, if you think of it, there's reasoning for getting fatter.

First, you will be eating a lot more than usual consumption. But due to pregnancy, many women will actually make a lot less movement. Just like my colleague in my office, she double her meal but move a lot less than before pregnancy. Some women does develop diabetis during pregnancy which would explain the sugar level in her blood as a result of unhealty eating habit.

I had C section a month ago. Delivered a healthy little princess. I would have opted for normal birth but because the umbilical cord was around baby's next 3 times, I had the C section.

The epidural (drug given at the spine to numb the body from waist down) was a a better option compared to having to be fully knocked out by drugs as you can see your baby immediate after the operation and also, the recovery is much faster too.

Of course, the pain was bordering on unbearable in the 1st week but it got better. As for the tummy that Jyen talked about, breast feeding will reduce the size of the tummy as the uterus get smaller. The rest, I guess, you just need to exercise it off..

The pain is worth it once you see your precious in your arms...

From what i've heard from mother's and mum-in-law .. Pain Killer's don't really help. The labour pain is still there. No difference.
But the drug may react differently to each and different individual

If you still maintain workout's when your pregnant and after pregnant then it shouldn't be a problem. But it may differ with different individual as well.

Yeah i have to agree with you.

To have fully knocked out It's much painful. You have to recover from the "HANGOVER" and the pain @ your abdominal.

An CONGRATS to you and your BABY. You have started a wonderful journey and i tell you looking after a baby whistling.gif

Not an easy job for mothers. You have all my notworthy.gif

Regarding the analgesia in labour, there are basically 3 types: epidural anesthesia, Entonox (gas), and IM pethidine (morphine). Epidural is the best as it offer good analgesia and in case of emergency C section, it can be used as the anesthesia intraoperatively. Entonox offer less analgesia compared to epidural but it is available easily. Pethidine also not so good because sometimes it can cause some degree of distress to the fetus.

I can help answer the 2nd question.

The period cycle will still come for a while even though you know your pregnant already. But the flow won't be so heavy as compared to normal cycles. the fetus is growing already, it should be at that time that the period stops or very mild flow.

Sorry for the late reply..ya... waiting for the weekend so that hubby can bring me kai kai...

if your period is regular and you are late, wait for about 2 weeks to get tested. You can buy any over the counter pregnancy kit. By right, if you are pregnant, you shouldnt have any period at all. If you have spotting (this means you have blood discharge like period) you should see the doctor asap.
