my mum use the bingo rolling merchine which i get back from lucky draw to deicde wat number she wana buy in that season hahahaah !! people eat flower horn ?? and report it on newspaper ?

can we eat them?

I rear 4 before..
All is given by my uncle..
But all dead..
I think skin and mouth infection..
Every of them suffering the same sickness..
Their scale start to peeling off theirself and their mouth start rot..
After few days,it dead. =<

Flowerhorn fish, also called Luohan (La Han), is a hybrid breed of Cichlid. Flowerhorns are thought to arise from the man-made hybridization of a number of cichlid species, from South and Central America. Although the exact parent species are not known, it is most likely that they include Cichlasoma trimaculatum and Amphilophus citrinellus (or another fish of the red devil cichlid) complex. Flowerhorns first emerged for sale on the aquarium market in Malaysia in the late 1990s and soon became popular in many countries in Asia. As a probable intergeneric hybrid the fish lacks a specific Latin name. Flowerhorns are, unlike many other hybrids, fertile.

Other notable inclusions in the flowerhorns breeding are Cichlasoma festae and Vieja synspila ('Redheaded' cichlid). Only the original breeders know exactly which species they crossbred to create the Flowerhorn cichlid. Given the vast amount of mixing, it is doubtful any recorded details of hybridisations exist.

There is a belief in the Far East that ownership of a Flowerhorn brings good fortune, especially in business and gambling. The hump that the adult male fish develops is said to resemble the Chinese god of longevity, and it is believed that the owners luck will grow if the fish's hump grows. The adult males are thus the most commercially valuable. Flowerhorns have distinctive markings on their sides, which can be interpreted as recognisable symbols. It is also noteworthy that the original species from which these cichlids were hybridised also display a number of these traits.

oh u mean not all flower horn will have big head? or its depends on what you feed them?

i heard got ppl say depend wat u feed also

i mean see the pearl at the head... hope can grow till the top of the head

I had this fish before i rear it when i was final year . Bring good luck to me along with high pointer, then after finish study bring back to hometown then my father forget to give food it died . I am so sad.

nice fish u got there, but a bit pricy... nwadays.
not much developement since i last reared Fh, looks like one of the mid kamalau variant..

It's been said that hybrid fish like the flowerhorn has a shorter lifespan compared to others. What's your take on this?

last time i alway play with my flower horn..feed them with small fish or sometime prawn ..they say eat little prawn can chnge fh skin to red colour..but it will make your aquarium very dirty la..

got time try get mirror and play with the fish...mostly fish will saw another flowerhorn and want to fight d...

i rear flower for 3 to 4 year,after that die casue im lazy change water tat time,lolz.haha
