Custom firmware(CFW) is pre-installed in PSP if you buy here in Malaysia(except SonyStyle or any other genuine seller of course). In other words, the seller wouldn't even need to turn on the PSP to install CFW because it's already in the machine. Best Buy in U.S, surely has official firmware only and you are highly unlikely to be able to ask the staff to hack it for you, i believe U.S. has strict control on piracy stuff as well.

If CFW is important for you(you know what i mean right?) then buy it back home is a better choice in my opinion. Since you're using a hacked PSP you won't be able to claim warranty if something goes wrong anyways.

Yea, this trick would work. Just treat it as if its one of your stuffs that you brought along for the trip into the country. But you have to sacrifice the box, which is kinda sad if you're the type of people that like to keep boxes of gadgets that you bought sad.gif Anyway, even at our weak exchange rate now, its kinda cheap. You just have to make sure you're getting the version that can be hacked, which excludes the dreaded motherboard revision TA-088v3, the biggest enemy of homebrews. I'm sure you'll miss playboy21's homebrew shooter then tongue.gif And since the PSP3000 is releasing soon and with the PSP2000 production being stopped, now should be the prime time to get a version that can be hacked before its price hiked up. I think Sony won't make the PSP3000 much easier than TA-088v3. Its now or never!

Prince of persia series is always very hard to control compared to PC version in my opinion. I just played PoP : Rival Swords on and off, because sometimes its really frustrating with the controls. You have to constantly adjust the camera to do things properly. I'm currently stuck at last level of Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core. Monster are too tough, because I played without completing the side missions. I think reached there with only 5% side missions completed. Guess I have to complete more to collect better items to fight Genesis in the final battle. You can try out Daxter, at least its simpler compared to PoP. Playstation games are meant to be enjoyable and fun, not frustrating smile.gif

idk, i play racing games the most. nfs series, wipeout pulse, burnout legends. other than that, crisis core, god of war, prince of persia, that shooting game i forgot the name, echochrome <--(yup, gotta love this game. hahaha laugh.gif )
i've completed god of war though, just okay. gameplay rocks, but short levels and simple puzzles.

Yo guys a question from a newb to all the pros around here.

Does having a phat PSP with a TA-82 motherboard with a corrupted idstorage keys warning when upgraded mean that the PSP is hard-modded?

Aw, how much i envy you! I was after the ending too! But to bad I'm separated from the splendid ending by the last boss which is too tough for me, a noob psp gamer. cry.gif Frankly speaking, I bought my psp to play Crisis Core, coz I would really see how the story connect to the movie Final Fantasy: Advent Children. Nicely done. Stories are strongly connected. I really feel immersed into the character Zack I'm playing. A good one from SquareEnix. toottut89, how did you manage to finish off the boss? Got tips? Argh, now I'm frustrated and desperate for the ending cutscene tongue.gif

In my opinion Prince of Persia series are more to precision gaming, so the character can actually do more acrobatic moves than Final Fantasy. But Final Fantasy rules on the game depth and storyline. And yea, the graphic is beautiful for Prince of Persia. Final Fantasy is great too, but the color setting is more to fantasy color scheme. And god, monster hunter freedom 2 graphics are really superb, but too much loading time, probably the PSP RAM can't hold so much area at the same time, too much detail smile.gif
