Just wondering why you're using it in the first place. If you're going to torrent/download, having more than 10 max half-open TCP connections isn't much of a difference. I'm running the default 8 to 10 and i am able to max out my bandwidth.

The problem exists on system boots up whenever restart. I'm using Home Premium.

Did you in any case, use 64-bit Vista?

If yes, go to http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/64-bit-x64...ctions-allowed/

What different with CrackTcpipv744.zip and VistaTcpipUacPatch2.0

QUOTE
CrackTcpip.sys is a driver based patcher for Windows Vista tcpip.sys to increase the limit the concurrent half-open TCP/IP connection attempt the operating system can make. CrackTcpip.sys does not modify original tcpip.sys in any way. It’s a memory-resident driver program that constantly monitor a memory location that stores the value of the limit, and change the default value to a higher number (255) on the fly.

Vista SP1 no matter 32-bit or 64-bit now enforce driver signing, so if you applied the TCPIP patch, you will be asked upon rebooting to restore the file. You can however still booting to vista by pressing F8 repeatedly when booting, and choose Disable driver check (or something like that) or if you're too lazy, google for DriverReady Plus, it will automate the process for you so you can go sleep while vista is booting rclxms.gif

You can bypass the driver enforcement by spamming F8 and select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" on boot when your computer starts accessing your hard disk. That's how it is now if you want to patch a system file.

You cannot get full bandwidth when the torrent network is bad or it's a rare torrent. Do you even know how the bittorrent works?

Looks like fun begins.

You don't screw up people's connection when you have more connections open. You will also get more bandwidth when more people uploads in the network.

Why don't you research more on this instead?

The Max Half-Open TCP connection value tuning is seriously overrated.

It's just like a buffer. You just need to have adequate amount.

If the other end of the connection have problem finishing off the handshake process, then no matter how much higher you put it, the buffer will still get exhausted.
