Main reason for Singapore web proxy is improved browsing speed for overseas sites. Most Malaysia ISPs, e.g. Streamyx have better connection speed with Singapore servers than other overseas sites. By using a Singapore web proxy, you can browse other overseas sites at connection speed with proxy.
Date : 31/5/08(Saturday) 9am to 11pm Reasons for one day free trial 1. Blog marketing. See my signature. 2. Induce demand for Singapore web proxy so that someone may offer the service commercially. Therefore I do not have to maintain a Singapore proxy server. Those who try the proxy, please post your Los Angeles speed test result (http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest ) using this thread. 1. ISP, e.g. streamyx 2. Location , e.g. Puchong, Selangor 3. Los Angeles download speed(without proxy) 4. Los Angeles download speed(with proxy) 5. Time, e.g. 2pm Information about the Singapore web proxy is shown below. 1/6/08 - Sorry free test is over Added on May 31, 2008, 8:37 amInformation about the Singapore web proxy is added to the first post of this thread Added on May 31, 2008, 8:39 amEarly bird catches the worm. It wouldn't bite You will appreciate the value of Singapore proxy when your ISP's connection speed to Singapore is better, e.g. Streamyx, during congestion. This Singapore proxy is hosted in Equinix Singapore data centre which is used by TM for international traffic. Added on May 31, 2008, 11:11 am QUOTE(mamadox @ May 31 2008, 10:53 AM) 1. Singapore proxy will show it's value when ISP does not have sufficient capacity to support the subscribed rate. Here is my speed test result using TM a few days ago. |

The next target is to do some testing during nighttime, e.g. peak Internet usage period for retail ISPs.
I think Jaring users do not feel any difference using this Singapore proxy because of extra hops between Equinix Singapore data centre (location of this Singapore proxy) and Jaring network. Routing is done thru Tokyo Jaring users, please confirm. Note : Small guide for selecting data centre for your proxy This post has been edited by oumind: May 31 2008, 02:45 PM |
