Hi,

Do you know what version firmware are you using on the 7632? The problems with the 7632 have been solved with the latest firmware, so everything should be please.

Please check your firmware version in the home screen, and let me know what version you're running.

Much thanks,
Kinson

Hi, I've checked for you, and the 27 firmware is the most current version of the firmware. If you don't mind me asking a question or two:

-Did you (or anybody) perform a firmware update on this router to get it to version 27? If you updated the firmware, did you remember to "restore factory defaults" after updating?
-Are you using an ADSL filter? If you're not, can you try using a filter, just in case? It's not always the case, but in some instances, I've seen the lack of an ADSL filter cause frequent internet disconnects.

If your router is faulty, you can take it to Belkin's service center (in OUG) and get a 1 to 1 exchange. If you're unsure of whether it has problems or not, you can also bring it there for them to test it for you.

I've notified Belkin's distributor in Malaysia about your issue, and have given him the link to this page. We'll see how things go. Hopefully we'll be able to help you get things sorting out asap smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson

Hi,

I don't have a Belkin router with me at the moment, I'll check when I go back. Off the top of my head, you won't need to check any "dial-on demand", because it should connect automatically, if there is any "keep connection alive" or something similar, check that.

If possible, please go to your PPPoE settings page and post the settings that you've posted there (streamyx username and password no need).

BTW, are you using an ADSL filter? Some areas need to use an ADSL filter, if not there is a lot of noise sometimes the line will disonnect.

Hope to hear more information from you soon.

EDIT: Btw, where do you access the ADSL parameter field?

Cheers,
Kinson

i'm having a similar problem, though i think mine might be a defective unit. its on the .27 firmware, 7632-4 7000ak, and it tends to hang (LAN disconnected + completely cannot access the modem) after about 5minutes online. it was fine before this, but i think last month i encountered the same problem before i did a hard reset. this time the hard reset didnt work either.

bloody thing connect to internet...but i can't surf :-(

would changing it's default ip from 192.168.2.1 to 192.168.*.* got to do with this? (i doubt so) ...but spending few hours for 2 nights is getting on my nerve

Hi,

You don't need to cd to configure the router/modem. You can just go to 192.168.2.1 in your browser and configure it. If you need, we can guide you through the process. The CD is just a "simpler" way of configuring it, though I actually find it harder to use, lol.

PS: I didn't reply to your PM, as I would say the same as here, so consider your PM replied, hehe smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson.

Hi,

Can you try and press (and hold) the reset button while the power is on, and after a few seconds, you'll notice that the lights will flicker a little differently. Give it a minute or two after that, then connect to the router via a network cable, and try and configure it and see what happens. The router's default ip is 192.168.2.1

If we're still having problems with it after that, just send it for warranty (along with the power) adapter, and they'll swap (1 to 1 at service center) a new one for you.

Hope this info helps. Sorry I haven't been able to monitor this thread too much, been extremely busy recently.

Cheers,
Kinson

No problem. Do you know where the service center is? (OUG industrial area).

One more thing, do you mind telling me if the power adapter is a small and light one, or a rather big, rectangular and heavy one? There was an issue with the earlier power adapters for the v700 router modems, they have replaced all the adapters after that, but there are obviously still users who are using the older adapter.

Whatever the case, it looks like you're going to have to make a trip to the service center, heheh. Fortunately it's a nice place (the service center, not the area) smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson
