Hi, I bought the same Belkin too and I've already upgrade the firmware as what you've told. Unfortunately the router keeps saying no connection but it's connected. I just can't surf the internet.

Hi,

Could you provide a few more details?

have you configured your router to PPPoE and configured the username/password correctly etc?

Is your DSL (the telephone icon) light stable, or blinking?

Cheers,
Kinson

Hi kenson,

I've checked the router's model and it's F5D7632-4 ver 7000ak. I've already tried to google the available firmwares but it seems they are only available for ver 2000 & 3000. Set it to PPPoE and I believed the username and password is correct. The lights are stable I guess.. no blinking. Later I'll put some screenshots.

The firmware that jackhorace sent you should be the latest one locally, I don't think you'll need to look further. also remember your username is "abc@streamyx" , no ".com". And also have you performed a factory reset after updating the firmare?

When you say "connected", do you mean he upper right corner for the router firmware screen is green and says "connected"?

Cheers,
Kinson

Yup, put it @streamyx and I've done the factory reset after updating. Err.. sorry about that kenson.. forgot to mention that it says connected at the ADSL status but Internet Status says "No connection". Here's a screenshot

O yeah, one more thing, I forgot to mention.

When you created the PPPoE connection, did you make sure the VPI/VCI was set to "0/35"? Sometimes Belkin tends to leave it at 8/35.

Cheers,
Kinson

Cheers. Always glad to help someone out smile.gif I think there is a slip of paper inside your router box that has a table of the VPI/VCI settings for Malaysia. I don't know why Belkin doesn't just put the proper number there...it seems to vary from batch to batch.

This seems to be a fairly common (and irritating) problem that I've seen with Belkin and Dlink routers....dlink doesn't give you a notice about it though, lol.

Anyways, enjoy your Belkin!! thumbup.gif

My bad. i thought version 7 is an update after version 6. Definitely wrong.
Thats means there is no update for my v6 belkin since it's already in v6.01.08

I will bring my modem to Belkin tomorrow for 1 to 1 exchange.
Is there any doc required since i lost the receipt already?

Thanks for the info guy. You all are really helping rclxms.gif
Still love Belkin product even got disconnected problem coz of their great support and warranty term. wub.gif

Hi all,

I am currently planninG to purchase a Belkin G+ MIMO Modem Router (F5D9630uk4A).

I understand the signal should be much better even if the router is in the hall and I am using a laptop in the room, I can still get full 5 bars...

Anyone has experience with this model? If yes, appreciate if you may kindly share your experience b4 I purchased. By the way, what would be the ideal price for this model?

shouldn't have any problem.
im currently using the Belkin Modem Router(F5D7632ak4) and I can still get full 5 bars in my room a storey up with door closed. The router is at the living room downstairs.
The standard price for G+ is around RM359.
I got my router at Startec Low Yatt. They offer quite a good price.

Whether you need a receipt or not depends on where you're bringing it. If you're bringing it to a reseller (e.g. ALL IT), they're demand your receipt as proof of purchase, unless they're in a good mood to check the serial number for you. If you go direct to the supplier, they'll accept it without any receipt, since they're the sole distributor in Malaysia, so it's obviously from them, lol.

Btw, do bring your power adapter along as well, cause if you give them your modem/router along with adapter, they swap 1 to 1 with a brand new one, sealed and all. So you get a new box and a cable or two :P

Btw, when you say your v600 router modem is always disconnecting, did this suddenly start happening, or was it always like that? Are you using an ADSL filter? Have you tried going direct without the ADSL filter?

Some areas you will need to use an ADSL filter (and some places you won't need to). When I was in cheras, my filter spoilt, then I used it for a while without it, I found my line/packets always disconnect/dropped. Once I put a adsl filter back, it was ok. Same thing happened to me at one of my customer's house.

Sorry for the late reply, been quite busy lately. Hope you've sorted out your problem by now :)

Cheers,
Kinson

I'm using the Belkin G+ MIMO router modem at home, and I'm very satisfied with it. It's at the center of my house (small single story bungalow), and I can receive the signal outside my gate, and just outside my neighbour's gate too. You didn't state what kinda house you're living in though. I mean, as long as your house isn't huge, a G+ MIMO should be good enough. I've had a customer who's house was very LONG though, hahaha. Also remember the solid walls are your main enemy :D

Router has been rock solid for me (My Netgear WGR614 and Dlink used to hang under load), so I've got nothing to complain, and of course, it's a Belkin wub.gif
