I've downloaded the firmware and using it now. Hopefully the frequent disconnection will go off.

ah shi-, i should've seen this thread sooner.

using F5D7634-4 too. and currently experiencing frequent disconnection and sometimes, modem hangs (like now lol).

i can access the internet (using ethernet) but i cant access my modem page. and i cant even use the wifi when it hangs. need to hard reset.

come on, i just use this thing not come to 1 week, and it gave me headache like im using more than 5 years?

lol.

Dude try changing the connection type to PPPoA and see whether it's better.

Added on October 14, 2009, 1:19 pmGuys, I'm still having the same shitty DC problem. I'm in Sabah. Tried to go back to the shop where I bought my modem. He told me it's streamyx problem. But I told him when I use the modem provided by TM don't have such a problem. Then he suddenly come up with another excuse, ask me to change to PPPoA seems to be better or not. Now I'm using PPPoA although it's less DC, but still it's quite a lot compared to my Riger.

I don't know the next time I go there what will he suggest me again. What for they provide warranty when they give excuses to reject our RMA requests? The shop is PCImage Karamunsing if you're curious.

Hi, i am one of the victim by FD7634 last time..
And i just warranty claim another new batch of FD7634 from Jack
And now i try for 2 day already..it serve me well..and no more frequently disconnect happened! But about the wireless signal strength..sorry to say tat..i still occur..but so far no more frequently disconnect already made me satisfy...
And i believe the wireless signal problem can be solve by firmware..
Cause last time my FD7634 before doing warranty claim i got used one firmware that can solve my Wireless signal problem..but i didnt kept the copy...
So i did believe firmware could help on wireless signal...
So..all the victim...plz do the warranty claim a.s.a.p..

If ur location at Kl..than u might go Puchong Taman OUG looking for Jack and straight away exchange 1 by 1 with him...
If outside than KL area maybe u can find any AVFuture branch for exchange 1 unit on spot with them also..
Or else..find the shop u buy with and warranty claim with them..but this need to wait for several day..

You can call him at 03-7783-3010 and discuss/arrange the best way to go about it. I normally go directly to Jack at the service center, a lot faster than returning it to the retailer.

Cheers,
Kinson.

I just updated my 7634's firmware to this version..trying it out now and i'll update ASAP.

*I never had a signal problem, but randomly (some times a few times a day, sometimes once in 2 days) unable to access the wireless even though it is detected with full signal strength. Always need to restart the unit only can connect again. So i'll see if the new 1.00.05T1 firmware solves this problem*

UPDATE: Almost 24hours now with zero problems, new firmware fixed my 7634's problem. smile.gif

Modem Model : Belkin Wireless Modem Router F5D7634-4
I had updated the latest Firmware,F5D7634_4v110A_WW_1.00.05T1.zip and it solved my wireless drop connection problem few days after installed.

Now.. I cant connect to the Wireless once it set Password and the only way to connect it, "NO PASSWORD".

Anyone facing same problem? Can i exchange with new UNIT?

Feel very disappointed with Belkin modem cause i just switch from LinkSys where its doesn't any problem til its burned.

I just bought a Belkin F5D7634-4 ver 1000ak from Tesco in Taman Midah, Cheras. I ran into problems immediately. First, I can't access the modem admin page. Second, can't establish wireless connection, Vista complains no response from AP. Third, the unit is really hot, I swear it increases the room temperature by a couple of degrees.

The reason I bought Belkin is its lifetime warranty. But with all of these problems reported in this thread, lifetime warranty don't worth shit. I wonder if I can return the unit and get my RM199 back.

I updated the firmware to _with_PPOE_correction_F5D7634_4v100A_WW_1.00.04T10.zip It is posted by ckboon in page 17. Solve all the problems except one, the unit is still very hot, so instead of leaving it on 24 hours a day, I switch it off at night.

Belkin routers always run a little hot. I leave mine on for months on end, so far still OK, hehe smile.gif

Guys, i changed my Belkin G wireless modem to Asus DSL-N11. So far working flawlessly.. Unlike belkin, grrrr. headache. For people who experiencing the same problems like me and others. Please don't hesitate. Just go back to your shop and switch your modem to other brand. Peace.
