damned,

Just bought this modem yesterday because the stock TM modem struck by lightning.

Wish I had read this thread before now i am facing with the same problem sad.gif

So far I still havent come across the hang issue, but I have the annoying auto-connect problem. Once I turn on the modem it wont automatically connect to internet. I need to start IE and point to a wed site and keep pressing F5 until the modem connect. This process usually lasted 2 mins.

Why cant the modem connect as soon as it is switch on. That bloody stupid "dial-on-demand" sucks.

Did you check anything like "connect on demand" or "disconnect after x minutes of inactivity" or something like that? I've never had this problem occur to the many Belkin routers before. Give me a few more details, and I'm sure I can help you sort it out smile.gif

(If possible answer before tomorrow morning, cause I'll be going to their technical place for chit-chat, so I can get more info).

Cheers,
Kinson.

hi guys..i've bought this router last 2 or 3 weeks ago..
and i'm facing this problem..keep on disconnect..aiyah..
how come i nvr read this topic last time..
so..is there any solution for this problem yet?
and how to check which firmware version i'm currently using?
hope to fix problem reall soon..this problem has caused my church member a problem coz they cant online for more than 10 minutes..
please give me a link for the solution..

*EDIT*
nvm..after reading all the comment from page 1 to 8, i think i can and i will find the answer myself by checking my firmware version,
if it is older than 7.27, then i'll download 7.27 firmware and update it..then restore default setting..
restart my router..and see if its solve my problem..
if my router is is 7.27 version and yet i'm stil facing with that problem, which mean firmware wasnt the problem..
it could be router faulty or phone cable problem..i'll check it by myself once i go to my church..^^

Kinson,

The screen grab below show the only available option I have for this Belkin modem when setup the connection. As u can see the only option is "dial-on-demand" and idle time.

Please uncheck the "dial on demand" checkbox. If I'm not mistaken, that means the modem will only connect/dial when you need internet.

It should work fine after that.

Please update me how it goes after you've done that smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson.

got to many "Drop invalid PPPoE-Session packet coming before PADS." in security log. at worst, this belkin 7632 will drop the connection every 3 - 5 minutes before it starts reconnecting again. it driving me nuts!!.. is there any hack we can telnet or something to this modem. firmware is the latest : 7.00.27. no wonder lowyatt seller keep reminding me about what's company and number to contact for warranty..d*mn.. that shud ring a bell! modem halt is a common thing for me ever since using this crap.

update - 30 minutes after my random blabber about how bad this junk... finally i opened its case (as suggested by someone in this topic, stand up sir!).. though that annoying "Drop invalid PPPoE-Session...bla bla" thingie still popups in modem security log, but the connection is back to normal, if not better! i reckon u're right,sHawTY, the heat defeats this modem.. the modem needs to breath freely. i dont mind leave it open as now since im too lazy to RMA or get other 'good gesture' from belkin. x ma finger on this..will see the performance for couple days before getting to firm assumption. neway gonna enjoy this 'back-to-normal' connection while it last. otherwise..i wouldn't mind to go for dlink or aztech once again.

After using this modem for a week now, I noticed that the modem hang often when I am usng P"P (e.g. BT) to download.

It is hang becoz, both internet & adsl LED is solid green, and when I tried to access the modem via 192.168.2.1 there is no response.

Is this hang caused by the heat problem? or something else? how should I RMA (just threw the orig box)?

thanks,

oh, sorry. I mean to Belkin service center.

But I believe if you want RMA to the shop you bought from, you need the modem, power adaptor and shop receipt.

hi there,

I want to RMA my belkin modem. Cannot stand the disconnects and crashes anymore, crashes getting more and more frequent.
I tried calling the KL numbers from the website: 603-77830011 and 603-77832010, but they don't seem to work? I get a recording saying the number's not in service.

Do I need to call up first to do a RMA? Are they open on weekends?

thanks.

Please call 03-7783-3010 and look for Jack. If you still have problems contacting them, you can post a message here again, and I'll help you out. Alternatively, if you're in the Kota Damansara area, let me know in advance, and I might be able to help you out too.

Cheers,
Kinson.
