Hi all

Im currently using this modem and i do not know why after 20 - 40 mins modem is connected online, my connection to the modem will be lost.

I cant access the 192.168.2.1 when it happens. Im connected via RJ45 port / LAN

I did try logging in through wireless and it seems working fine, just the LAN connection is disconnected.

Any advise from all the sifus here ?

Thanks in advance

Brand : Belkin

I think it's more to your network card or cable. Try to ping your network card and see if there's any errors.

1. Go to command prompt (start\run and enter cmd)
2. Find out the IP address by typing ipconfig /all (there's a space between g and /)
3. To ping the NIC continuously, type ping <enter IP address here> -t

Let it run for half an hour. If you want to stop, just press CTRL + C.

Thank you so much for the reply but currently im using another modem "aztech adsl modem" It works fine and wont have such problem as the belkin...... so i doubt is the network card or cable problem.

I think its the setting or modem defect sad.gif

Have you tried the other 3 ports? Any chances of the modem get struck by lightning?

And perhaps you could check the Security Log for clues.

Hi,

What version of the router are you using? Is it v7(7000) series? That series has problems with the internet, and as far as I know, it hasn't been solved yet. That's one of the reasons why I haven't been taking Belkin into my shop for a while, even though I love Belkin sad.gif

The older Version6 (6000) didn't have this kind of problem. Its only the last few months with the v7 series.

Cheers,
Kinson

http://192.168.2.1/ADSL_status_main.stm

Save the page and post it here.

From the security log, you can see if there's any errors like timeout etc. Just keep your modem running until you're disconnected. Post the security log here as well.

It should be on the box, and also on the underside(or somewhere) on your router. (I've attached a picture here)

I replied to your other post as well:

*Comforts.

Like i said(in the other post), you can try calling their technical support. 03-7783 3010 (Look for Jack). He might have a newer firmware that fixes this issue, though I haven't heard of it yet...so far the newer firmware fixes the ADSL light, but the internet is a little inconsistent or slow...something like that, suppose that'd be better than no internet anyways.

Or the other option would probably be to ask the person you bought it from if they have the older version 6 model, and ask to swap it. Since they can just send your router to Belkin and get a new one anyways.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes after you've called smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson

Latest update

I went to the Belkin and let them diagnose this problem, without hesitation they upgrade the next higher model "G+MIMO" without additional charges.

So far *finger crossed* no problem everything is running smoothly.

I am very pleased with the modem so far. Thanks for the advice kinson77 ..... cheers

No problem. Glad to help smile.gif I also heard that that was the solution to the problem recently, as my friend also received the same treatment last week.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any problem with the G+ MIMO yet, thats why they're offering it as a replacement.

As far as I heard though, they wont be swapping any more, cause they're pinpointed the problem. Belkin had some guys come over from Taiwan and Hong Kong, and there were testing at me friend's house. They more or less pinpointed it to an adapter problem of some sorts. So I don't think they'll be dishing out G+ MIMO's like that anymore...in case anybody tries to try this "trick" tongue.gif Hopefully the next batch of G+ Router Modems will be fine, as I've been waiting to take Belkin stock in my shop for months, hahah. Surviving on Linksys and ZyXEL smile.gif

Have fun with your G+ MIMO, and kudos to Belkin support smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson

PS: Ignore the difference between the "kinson7" and "kinson77" accounts...I accidently created 2..and I keep getting mixed up, blah.

Recently, the connection keep dc every once in a while, should I go change it like TS did?

Just bought it for a week or so.
