Are you bored with wordpress default smilies? well i got solution where wordpress user with access can manually redesign or reconfigure the smilies. Below are example of smilies design, there is much much more design out there. i will provide you guys with my favourite smilies . i have updated the tutorial to wordpress 2.5.1 compatible



One of the problem encounter when using smilies is i can’t fully utilize all the smilies.. why? i can’t remember all the smilies code, like : p, : ) and all that. well in this tutorial we are gonna solve this problem by providing the admin and commenter a menu to choose the smilies, this way you do not need to memorize

Further Instruction

1. Download the cloud smilies pack
2. extract the smilies
3. Start up your ftp program
4. upload the extracted smilies to public_html/wp-includes/images/smilies/ and replace all the file inside the folder (you may backup old smilies if you want)
5. If you have programming background you may edit the function.php at “public_html/wp-includes” folder , go to line #1333. Modify accordingly. If you do not know what to edit just download my my functions.zip, upload the function.php and replace the original (you may backup the original function.php if you want).
6. Download WP Grin (mirror), to allow your visitors use smilies comments.
7. Upload wp-grins folder to public_html/wp-content/plugins/
8. Go to the Plugins page in your WordPress Administration area and click 'Activate' for WP Grins.
9. Wallaaa!! you're done!
