Ram disk actual speed

A simple test on actual copying speed on ramdisk to ramdisk. 1GB data transfer with 5 sec. program tested : teracopy with full buffer on 20mb.

it's sumthing like using part of the ram to become secondary storage like hard disk or thumb drive.

yup yup..
remember from the good old dos days  ramdisk  simply loving it.. Ram disk was really useful last time when everybody was still using floppy disk and slow hard disk.... Nowadays, with fast hard disk and ram cache, they are not that popular anymore.... Even Gigabyte i-RAM was not a successful product..... |

i still remember using ramdisk for folding, after twice power failure lost over 200 points.
just wait the price come down RM100 for 4GB, then i think worth running application pure on ram |
