I've tried it just now. From Pertama Kompleks Bistro. Full bar signal.
Unsecured network.

If not mistaken, from Maju Junction also can get full bar signal.

Same here. The wireless signal was strong (in fact I was sitting 2m from the router) but I couldn't get it to do anything. I don't think they have done very much testing. The owner of the shop where the router is located said he didn't think anyone had ever used it successfully.

D more i read d more i feel am smelling fishy wif these projects n dumb & dumber in action.

It was truly Malaysian style- always under deliver, below quality n voicing out proud n loud.

If wan2 giv free service better give properly n give instructions of use properly LAH.

Wif router n great line, yet unable to access. No maintainence or technician team to back up. No prompt checking on service. Some place working some places not even though in d same area. No authority party to rectify it? No feedback to service provider? I bet there is a lot. Coz i did complained to Green Packet, am civilized conscious but nasty citizen here jus like d Yankie.

Even their P1 promotion message went wrong n misleading. Wat happen 2 their marketing department? Hell, it is lame since it went wrong n published big big in newspaper. Wat a laughing stock.
Advertise n promoting WiMax on paper n ask u go website for further info.
Damn, public wil hav WiMax in their head when inquire. After long explaining on service they said it is Wifi not WiMax. WiMax still testing in Wangsa Maju.

Some time i feel these projects is jus another project to eat our Income Tax money n pay u a scratches for fun.

A propaganda to make public feels good.

Yes, you will need to register in order to use the service.

The main purpose of this project is for people on the move to do regular internet services like browsing for info and check email. It's not for p2p and make it as your home media center.

However, as mentioned some of the places are not properly maintain and caused alot of problems to the users. Hope they will improve as soon as possible.

500MB is like 16MB per day. I can break that limit by just surfing lowyat forum alone. Just this morning I sent 14MB and received 53MB without any audio or video streaming. Just visiting multiple websites can easily break that limit.

That's why it's free and it's only available in commercial area but not in residential area, where people don't usually camp and online whole/every day as if they are at home.

Well, Lim Guan Eng has been con by them as well. Good luck to the "free" wireless in Penang. Even in KLCC area also cannot login. Always get stuck with their wifi router login "Colubris".

Penang Wifi is provided by Redtone not by P1.
P1 is providing WiMAX in Penang.

<<<A total of RM60mil is being spent to make Kuala Lumpur wireless, with the DBKL Hall and MCMC contributing RM5mil each and Packet One picking up the balance tab of RM50mil.>>> According to this star report dated Tuesday May 13, 2008 http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file...814&sec=central

That's 10 milliion down the drains! mad.gif
