QUOTE(helob @ May 26 2008, 02:23 PM)
Thank you for the fast turn around.
I have installed the VPN network and have managed to login to iTunnel.
However the download speed hardly change (<5.0KBps) on my uTorrent client after loging into iTunnel.
The torrent I am downloading has 4204 seeds & 5848 peers.
iTunnel Status:
Server IP address :80.254.79.59
Client IP address: 80.254.75.138

How should I config Preferences for uTorrent which I am using for P2P client.

1. Connection: What should be the setting under Proxy Server? (none, socks4,socks5,HTTPS,HTTP)
2. BitTorrent: What should be the setting under Protocol Encryption? (disabled,Enanbled,Forced). Also should 'allowing incoming legacy connections' be enable?
3. Any other special settings that need attention?

Why is Server IP address showing 80.254.79.59 instead of 80.254.79.58 in  iTunnel Status?

Any inputs from those with good download speed would be much appreciated.

Thank you. I hope he will take not of this.

I guess there is some flaw with your utorrent config or the ip address (streamyx ip) that you are currently using. Please add me via msn so i can assist you smile.gif

CODE
iTunnel@msn.com

I have never use msn. Is it a chat room ? How do do I add you via msn?
I suspect that utorrent config might be the problem. Can't you answer the specific questions that I asked regarding uTorrent Prferences?
Streamyx ip (218.111.10.25) is OK. I have confirmed by testing at speedtest.net and getting a download speed of >1300kbps.

well if u get good speed by speed test using our vpn then it's surely your utorrent config problem.

I can help you set it up. And , msn is like an instant messenger. Do you have yahoo messenger? I mean is there any other way i can talk to you other than here, since i have to guide you on utorrent.. smile.gif

Yes, I have portforwarded in my router. Confirmed port is OK as it show green in download icon.
I have used the same settings on uTorrent with other VPN services without problem.
Did you turnn on Protocol Encryption in CometTorrent? Also did you enable proxy server?
Thanks

Nope i din change a thing in my bitcomet... but 1 thing... are you dling chinese torrent... if yes than it might be the connections to chinese server (some Chinese servers were disrupted due to the quake, reparation works are currently on progress...)

try some other torrent... go to isohunt and get 1 or 2 european / american torrent (wif good seeds / peers) and see if it still slow...

Yes, helob are you downloading files from china tracker? If so, you might be having slow speed since their links are currently damaged due to the quake. If possible, just like what LyGolous said, try downloading a torrent from US based peers and see what speeds you get. smile.gif

The torrents that I try to download are English and from Demonoid/The piratebay with large no. of seeds & peers.
Can you check in your bitcomet whether you have protocol encryption enable?
Thanks

I have done some testing.
1. With iTunnel vpn logon, I can't connect to any web sites. If I disconnect iTunnel, there is no problem.
2. I login to iTunnel with ip address 80.254.79.58 as instructed in the installation. Once login, iTunnel status show the server ip as 80.254.79.59?.
I can ping 80.254.79.58 but not 80.254.79.59 ( time out). Why?
LyGolous, could you pls check what server ip is showing after you logon to iTunnel vpn. Do you have any problem getting good download speed from either Demonoid or Isohunt today?
Thanks

I cannot answer that question because i dont think any setting is really needed. What i did with my utorrent was after downloading it, i just set the port (55321) , set my upload rate , max tcp connection from 8 to 800 , and the rest are the default settings. It works with me. I cannot give u an answer because i need to see what is your problem step by step. It is not easy to give u a possible fix here. That's y i told you we should use msn or any other IM program to communicate. I do not have a landline phone but i provided you with my handphone number.

Hi~
Just tried downloading with utorrent after connecting to iTunnel and was satisfied with the downloading speed~~
However it seems to have a bad connection to China coz I can't even send a message via QQ (the Chinese messanger)@_@;
When connecting with solely Streamyx I could still at least send text messages...

No other problem though, so still quite satisfied with the service:)

Thanks ying123 for the feedback. What download speed are you getting?
Could you share with me what's your uTorrent setting under preferences for the followings:
-Connection: Proxy Server>Type: ? (None, Socks4, Socks5, HTTPS, HTTP)
-BitTorrent: Protocol Encryption>Enable or Disable?

Did you have any problem open/loading any web site after login to iTunnel vpn?

Thanks agin for your feedback

wow.... lucky that i try to use the service. I try to download a 95MB file site from the rapid share site. When using the iTunnel VPN it just take me less than 15 minutes. rclxm9.gif

When no connect to VPN, download the same file need to take >3 hrs with the max can reach less than 14K vmad.gif
what is happening to streamyx service....

Streamyx seem like reduce the bandwidth from the oversea hosting... BAD.......Just imagine with limited bandwith for oversea site, how can we live in the globalization era. cry.gif

Anyway... THUMBS UP FOR iTunnel thumbup.gif

Nope. Should I be using?
What about outgoing Protocol Encryption? Should it be enable?
Why don't iTunnel provide the most suitable config for uTorrent preferences like the others?

Nop, you no need to use proxy at all.

we have no preference, just set your uTorrent to default setting. rclxms.gif

May I know are you using it in the university or colleague?
