We all seem to be quite divided. While I do think this is a good movie, but First Class trumps all Marvel's offerings this year.

Owh well, There's the Avengers next year anyways. That should shake the whole world. Plus Joss Whedon. laugh.gif

Good job Evans. Seems to be perfect fit. And give Hugo Weaving anything, and he'll perform it wonderfully.

Anyone felt odd that Hydra is speaking in English and not German? laugh.gif

just saw the preview screening organised by maybank last night. the movie was entertaining, but lacks behind thor and iron man imo.

bits i loved about it:
1. skinny steve rogers. the cgi is just so seamless... i really wanna know how they pulled it off. apparently no body double was used. absolutely amazing.
2. the buildup to steve's transformation.
3. tommy lee jones. he has all the funny lines laugh.gif
4. red skull. hugo weaving plays him wit a menacing glee tat is very fun to watch.
5. TIES IN NICELY TO AVENGERS. OMGWTFBBQFISHSAUCE CANT WAIT FOR JUNE NEXT YEAR!

bits i found lacklustre:
1. the fight scenes. i found em to be a bit cartoonish (caps managed to infiltrate a weapons base all by himself??), and the hydra soldiers were every bit as incompetent as stormtroopers.
2. the second half of the movie kinda dragged a bit... bucky's subplot was handled very abruptly.

remember to stay after the credits for the avengers teaser! wub.gif

I agree with you, but we gotta cut them some slack. It's not easy making a star spangled guy armed with nothing but a throwing shield, running around fighting a guy with a red skull for a face look realistic or sensible.

The movie has its weaknesses but I must say that the pros outweigh the cons. As Quickfire mentioned. It's a silly fun time at the movies. biggrin.gif

A very, very long time. Just sit and talk to your friends about the movie while you wait.

it was an entertaining movie. i laughed a lot, I guess all of the viewers too last night.

tommy lee had the best bits with his deadpan looks.

the whole movie may not have some the 'not gung-ho action' that will appeal to die-hard action fans but still enough to put a smile for them at the lighter moments.

it was my first marvel movie this year (yeah i miss the others thru busy with work etc & unable to get tickets for first class)

from reports i guess most marvels films have done quite well. DC have a blockbuster in DK & some others struggle to pull fans in despite an ok of a movie. maybe the rest of the crusaders in DC arent aren't as 'appealing' as the bat man

the actions look a bit cartoonish, you can see when he's running, compared to Spiderman swinging from building to building, or the futuristic weapons n vehicles, compared to Star Wars. but the joke never dies. they always get humorous. Quite unexpected. Good laugh. Good laugh rclxms.gif

The build up is good, but felt the middle part is kinda rushed somehow. Overall its a good movie and enjoy it thoroughly. Is it true that Howard Stark is featured in the Cap America comics too?

Waited quite some time for the credits to end. Everyone already left the cinema except me and another 3 movie-goers. Worth the wait I'd say. Anticipating eagerly for the Avengers!

I think Stark was focus after the blue cube(not the celcom). And he never did seriously want to find cap. If he indeed found him and wake cap out of coma, i think the WWII history will be re written. Coz cap alone with his 5 elite commando partners will take out any army i mean any army in the WWII and also will win the cold war and Vietnam war.

The plane was powered by the Cube, and Stark was looking for the plane by tracing the cube's energy signature. However, once Stark found the cube, he couldn't find any other trace of the cube's energy, hence, he couldn't locate the plane.

Above average movie. Decent super-villain who is all talk but no show. Unconvincing action scenes (jumping impossible lengths and heights). I actually enjoyed the 1st part of the movie more than the rest.

However the movie is still enjoyably fun and worth to watch
