Anybody can help me to find fm tuner for the my iphone? I've been looking around klang valley but no success. Except in sunway pyramid they have an ifm for ipod. It works fine on the sound but I didn't bring my ori headset for iphone so that I can check whether I can still use the handsfree function. Anybody? Suggestions? Thanks..

Hi been looking around to add Malaysia in the Country selection but there isn't
Hell, they have Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines but NO Malaysia
Hell, they even have most of the middle east!

Basically i want this :
user posted image
I tried to follow the guide in http://modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php/Adding_Countries_to_iPhone_Address_Book
but i dont have the plist editor and i used OmniOutliner but it doesnt allow saving to .plist files.

=======================================
INSTRUCTIONS

1. download attachment Contact_Address.zip (provided by frozzbyte & alang)
2. unzip the file and you will find a file called ABAddressFormats(MOD).plist
3. RENAME it to ABAddressFormats.plist
4. Using your SSH software ( i used WinSCP) to log into your phone.
5. go into the directory /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBook.framework
5a. (optional step) copy out your original ABAddressFormats file OUT of your iPhone for safekeeping
6. DRAG ABAddressFormat.plist into it
7. Confirm COPY and overwrite the file
8. Disconnect iPhone and restart your phone.
9. MALAYSIA should appear as an option in the country selection list in your Addressbook

Well, anything that you feel is useful to you. Contacts, songs, videos, etc. If you want to save yourself the trouble of re-installing apps, maybe you want to nick the app files off your phone and save it to your PC/Mac..

What can you do with Bluetooth on the iPhone?

-It can't transfer files to a PC.
-It can't send a photo to a Bluetooth printer.
-It can't stream audio via Bluetooth to a compatible speaker system or headset. (Video is out of the question.)

The only function of the Bluetooth is to link with Bluetooth headset. (Better to test if it's working with iPhone before buying)

Yeah, iPhone's are locked to their respective country's carrier so you have to unlock it to be able to use it..

I've no idea, to be honest, but you might wanna go over to the garage sale section in the forum. I think the prices offered there are more competitive compared to the prices quoted in brick and mortar shops. Good luck!

Thanks for this FAQ page.. But i have to apologize that I still have question to ask (lots of questions). sweat.gif sweat.gif

MAIN QUESTION:
I'm not sure if I am suitable to own an Iphone. would like to hear you guys comment base on my need and my knowledge in tec.

Currently I own o2 mini. And running on windows mobile does allow it to install different kinds of application /games etc. But after a while I find it a lot of hassle...and do not have time to check/install/try all d applications. And when i didnt spend time on those.. the PDA phone bcome rather user unfriendly (compare to normal hp) exp: sms, browse pictures, etc.

Finding that myself is not the type of person who will spend hours researching how to customize my pda. I dont think i will b going for another PDA phone. Now... i am considering is Iphone suitable for me.

why i like about I phone:
1. Browsing photos with zoom in/out/pan so convenient.. and CLEAR!!! As leisure photographer... I will always like to keep some favourite shoot to show off my photos.

2. Song Album organized so easily and swapping albums interface is sooo COOOL! I believe in Ipod userfriendliness. No doubt.

3. Built in Wireless. wifi? Current 02mini dont have wifi. and must use external wifi card. This is important question i will like to find out..

HOW EASY IS IT TO SURF WITH IPHONE SAFARI? HOW CAN WE CONNECT TO INTERNET? IF in Starbuck...we get WIFI.. and so it is free.... But how fast is the connection compare to if we surf through laptop on wifi? What if Im somewhere else with no wifi.. any other way for me to get connected? EDGE? I dont know how good will this work. I hardly imagine the ease of connecting with Iphone and this is an important issue for me. Can I still download files with safari? WIFI vs EDGE vs 3G vs GPRS tongue.gif ..these r big big question for me

4. On 02mini... I find that i cant even save images from website. How about I phone?

Other disadvantages i find in Iphone (for me)
5. Cant copy & paste text/files like in windows mobile
6. im pc user. will this b a problem for I phone. in syncing files .. i tunes.. etc
7. is there any application in I phone that is similar to Microsoft Outlook where i can organize my days and schedule meeting etc?
8. no MSN!!!!! ... was hoping i can sit back in starbuck n chatting with ppl in my Msn lists.
9. typing. I understand the clever onscreen keyboard works..(auto predict ur text smthing like that) But i still dont understand how well it works. Using PDA to sms while driving is almost impossible for me. (i Write with stylus)
10. cant bloody mms. at least im glad my mum know how to mms photos of smthing she saw n likes.
11. cant forward sms to multiple ppl (cny wishes, valentine's wishes, new year wishes)
12. no warranty....haha. and all the hassle with unlocking..software updates etc.

Found lowyat r selling i phone for rm 1.7k+ wondering is it worth to get a piece of Iphone to replace my old poor 02mini. what u guys think? icon_question.gif

i m reading the article on hw to unlock the iphone..

i noticed

"I mistakenly checked the downgrading a 4.6 bootloader to a 3.9 fake blank bootloader (as you'll see in a picture later) but it didn't matter. There is error checking in this program."

so does dis mean when using iLiberty we dun go checking "downgrading a 4.6 bootloader to a 3.9 fake blank bootloader " ??

me too want to ask..wats the first ting to do when u get the iphone? hook it up to iTunes den run the unlockig s/w??

thanks in advance all

**EDIT

mmm...maybe TS can add some notice on iBrickr. some people just google on adding ringtone into iPhone, and then find iBrickr as a free solution. but then after using it, jeng jeng jeng...

a simple notice will suffice. at least we can avoid cases like this from happening again:

actually u can MSN on the iPhone using Fring. u can refer here and here. btw the 3rd party apps scene will be more merrier with the launch of official apps maybe this june. so there should be an official ported version of instant messaging application that u preferred. but as for now, u can already use fring (that also can handle Skype VoIP calls).
another application that can handle the same task is called Chat. also can do almost the same job, but without Skype VoIP of course.

no problem syncing files, either your contacts, photos or media files. u need to install iTunes, and it's the centre of transfers between your iPhone and computer. in iTunes u can also specify the iPhone to be synchronised with Outlook, so don't worry though.

using it while driving is impossible (and dangerous though). but other than that, the virtual keyboard is pure brilliant.

about saving file and performing copy and paste on the web, u can already do that using 3rd party app. btw some beta firmware users say that image snapping feature on the web is already built inside it.

speaking of unofficial 3rd party applications on the iPhone (as there's still no official application released yet), actually u can use them to achieve what u can't on stock configuration. u can forward SMS, receive and send MMS, save files from the internet, create and edit ringtones on the iPhone itself, all of that can already achieved on 3rd party apps. but there's some catch though, and u can see what r they later as u use the iPhone or as u research bout them further.

so good luck on your research.
