Hi all,

Lately I have been experiencing very bad connection speed with my Celcom Broadband and wiress modem. The signal shows "light blue" which signifies HSDPA, nevertheless, the download and upload speed never increases to above 100kbps. Mst of the time it is at zero. I am only able to log in MSN, and that also sometimes not able to receive animations. I lodged many complaints with Celcom and in the end they told me that there is a problem with their 3G gateway and will only be able to be resolved by May 15th. Has anyone encountered the same problemm as me? If this is a big problem that affects a large number of customers, many would have posted such an issue here.

Please assist me in getting to the bottom of this issue...

Thanks..

I experienced the same problem as you...... at much worse situation.
Constantly from November last year until now...... They never improve.

And yet I just received the 5GB/mth Quota SMS from them.

Maybe you want to follow up here
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/683552

Just terminate it...... This Company is hopeless...... Only good at hiring some telephone support staffs to cheat customers.
Don't believe what they said...... they told me many different date which can solve the problem, and now they told u 15th May.....???
I tell you, 15th May 2020 maybe can settle .......... thumbup.gif

They keep twisting their words this Celcom! I chose Celcom Broadband over Maxis because many claimed it is better than Maxis. Now I noticed that the speed is even slower than my Maxis 3G phone. This is so disappointing. I signed up for the RM98 package which is supposed to give me 3.5G. But now, cannot even get 100kbps!

Celcom sucks. You're right, they would probably resolve the matter in may 2020...

Ya, at first I thought my USB modem is faulty. But after numerous complaints, they finally explained the truth to me. When I said that I wanted to terminate the service, they said Tak Boleh because my contract is for 24 months! How to tolerate this speed for 24 months? Like this I better just hang out at cafes with wifi... or just install the streamyx. Atleast won't be soooo sloowww connection speed. Download one MP3 song also take all night long...

That's why this place also known as MALAYSIA BOLEH!!! They boleh "get away" with anything. If this happened in any western countries, the govt will shut them down or atleast warn them to rectify within weeks... not months and years...

I just don't understand, a couple of years back, there was a huge earthquake that ripped apart worldwide internet cables worldwide somewhere in Taiwan... Yet it was rectified within less than 6 months. The way Celcom works suck... Just a some 3G portal got problem, affect the whole customer base nationwide.

The worst part is, Every Celcom D68 Unlimited Package User will officially pay RM68 for merely 5GB max of bandwidth per month.

Meaning your daily download limit is only 160MB..... that is only 7MB max per HOUR !!!

Reason??? Their agents had accepted too many subscriptions to the service and all the station base cannot sustain such traffic....
Then all recent subscribers realized that the contract is bond to 24 months, YES a lot of users going to pay for 24 months to feed all these stupid bastaxd FOR DOING NOTHING.

OBVIOUSLY THIS IS CHEATING, AM I RIGHT ?????

And what the support person can tell you is,

YAYA.... MEMANG ADA GANGGUAN....(interruption from where???)
SILA CUBA SEBENTAR LAGI, DARI SEMASA KE SEMASA...... KAMI TIDAK BOLEH BUAT APA-APA BUAT SEMENTARA WAKTU INI.

lol, that reminds me.

*calls celcom*

me: I'm having a problem where my connections will be dropped every 10 minutes. Then when tries to reconnect, I'll get "remote computer not responding error."
operator: notebook or pc.
me: pc
operator: usb dongle driver installed already?
me: already [LOL, SO OBVIOUS-LA]
operator: please uninstall and restart your computer then reinstall back
me: already done, all the steps including re-plugin, reinstallations, even the same error persists at other new computers as well.
operator: We currently having service outage at your area, please try again later.

meh, don't they just go straight to the point saying service outage, instead of useless stuff that wastes our time dry.gif

Now connections seems so slow, msn can't connect sleep.gif.

HSDPA led status, but everything seems like slower than GPRS doh.gif

Hahahaa...

i tot i'm the only one facing the slow connection and sometime disconnected, had been subscribing since September last year. lucky me, i have no contract, so can terminate anytime. when the connection too slow, try to disconnect the current connection, then reconnect again, pray hopefully you'll connected to faster server. celcom has many server, try to connect to the faster one.
i also receive the 5Gb/monthly transfer warning last week. i tot celcom d68 is monthly unlimited package, how come got warning?
i'll complaint these matter to celcom careline, if no positive feedback from them, i'm planning to terminate my subscription.

That's the problem... many of us, the usb modem shows HSDPA and / or 3G but ping at zero (0). Cannot surf at all... or must wait ages and refresh many times. It's so frustrating! This is worse than the Maxis 3G via phone that I used last time...

Ya... I registered for the RM98 package after I was attracted by their heavy advertisement all over town boasting that Celcom Broadband was good for song and other downloads... But after I registered, the speed is just GPRS standard, cannot even surf normal pages and do internet banking smoothly. Then when I complaint, initially they said "wireless memang macam tu, memang tak boleh di banding dengan Streamyx". Eh??? Now the story different pulak... then I complained again, they said that the position of my condo does not get good coverage... Then complained again, they finally admitted that their 3G portal got problem... That also dunno whether true or not. I have very strong doubts that the speed will not improve even after 15 May. Sigh.... I thought Celcom made improvements already, actually still the same old lousy service...

Ya that's true... most of the time we spend time at home and internet is the main source of time consumption at home. So at least streamyx won't "hang" and let us down...

My complaint to celcom careline has been replied by their customer service exec. Monthly 5Gb Allocation? YES, due to congestion in the 3G Core Network, celcom come out with 5Gb solution. this doesn't mean we cannot surf after the 5GB allocation, we still can surf. just the connection speed will be reduced. as D68 user, my speed drop 50%(Max:21kB/s) after receiving the 5Gb warning, but 100%(Max:43kB/s) speed up on last sunday. but i still facing the frequent disconnection, and line always dropped. celcom don't have the right to block connection after 5GB, but they right to limit the speed. well that the monthly unlimited means, or else we can sue celcom for breaking the "Monthly Unlimited" term in the contract. Well they are now playing with the rules. the reason they introduce 5GB solution for fair usage to all user. if this doesn't solve the current problem, they better come up with better solution before this 15May as they promised. Or else this will be my last month subscribing their service.

we don't have choice since there are no reliable isp here in malaysia. even if we terminate the data package, it won't do them much harm. i lost hope already in our country broadband service.

This morning celcom3g performs slower than my DiGi EDGE or probably slower than GPRS. :sweat

Speed test result [note:- I don't have msn or other applications online yet]:-

*Subscribed to RM 98/m [so-called 3.5mbps package] and using Huawei 3G mobile connect usb modem.
*Modem status displays connected to Celcom Malaysia 3G+
Is this how they treat the customers? sweat.gif ...more like "threats their customers".

And I also received their "friendly threats" about the 5gb allocation/m from celcom12032 sweat.gif

HEY I PAY RM98 HERE, DOOD. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Wait till DiGi rolls out their 3G coverage soon and terminates this one.

For others who want to subscribe to Celcom 3G, think twice, no, triple...NAH, JUST DON'T SUBSCRIBES WITH THEM AT ALL.
