I got this SMS just now:

Sender: Celcom12032 27/04/2008
Dear customer, you have consistently exceeded the allocation of 5GB/mth. Please reduce your usage or risk having your speed controlled.

For the past whole month, I everyday also complained them for the failure to connect to Celcom 3G Broadband (RM68 monthly unlimited package)

I was told by the manager that my area, Skudai JB has too many subscribed user and the station can only sustain 10x HSDPA connection max.
I can only "online" after 3am midnight to before 8am morning.
Other than that, I cannot connect, or after connected but cannot surf.
Now I have to tumpang my neighbour's WiFi to surf internet for whole month..... WTF rclxub.gif

I was giving them enough time to solve the "gangguan" from ghost-will-know reasons.....

Now is the time to say bye bye to Celcom............. No.1 Liar ISP I ever encountered....... Worse than Streamyx and very unprofessional. rclxms.gif

The more shocking part is, I cannot online at all for this month....
How on earth I can download more than 5GB per month?

My friend's Streamyx 4MB combo package already can download that much within 2 days.....

I had been using Celcom since January 2007.... from HSDPA 3Mbps down to recently 0 to 7Kbps....... Worse than my neighbours' Jaring Narrowband smile.gif

QUOTE(Kukumalu @ Apr 27 2008, 05:31 PM)
This thread sounds very suspicious...

1) It is so unprofessional for an ISP to send warning sms to its customers for things like this. When things like this happen you're more likely to get a letter or a personal call.

2) No company manager will disclose their company's product limitation by word of mouth. Come to think of it, since the TS knows the limitation of a Node B base station, he might be one who is from another competitor company trying to be funny.

3) Subscriber traffic is much worst in the some major parts of the Klang Valley than Skudai.

Are you some cyber trooper trying to be funny again?

You accuse your competitor as the no.1 liar and claim that it's slower than narrowband but how come so many others are satisfied with it?

Which company are you from?

If you're really genuine, report this to MCMC and state those claims above. They'll verify this with Celcom to see whether it's true.

doh.gif  Some real corrupt company is becoming more sinister by the day.

Well if they want to throttle the D68 after exceeding the limit then I hope they wouldn't throttle it at a ridiculous speed since the D68 is already quite slow at 384kbps. wink.gif

Very sad to tell you.... They are not only slow, the problem is "CANNOT SURF AT ALL"
My connection speed when I get connected to their narrowband is merely 2 to 7Kbps for whole month..... Night time after 8pm is impossible to surf..... My DU Meter shows 000000000000 All the way.
And now they sent me this warning....... WTH I didn't even have chance to surf, who used up 5GB bandwidth on behalf of me?

The same period during last year, I could get very constant 1.8Mbps line ( I was in HSDPA D120 pacakge before I downgrade)

oh ya..... last year whole month of November, they have serious "maintenance" which caused the line down for whole month.
The technical person said "maybe" I can get full refund...... But I Still Got to Pay for for BILL........ brows.gif

Best Effort Basis ??? When I don't see any effort from Celcom to improve the quality and latency of their line, what is the meaning of this ??????? rclxub.gif

I don't think Streamyx Combo package has quota at the moment.
What I am using is D68 package from Celcom 3G Broadband Unlimited 384Kbps.

Even without this SMS notification, I also cannot get normal speed already.
This sms made me even more angry and I will terminate the Celcom once my Streamyx line get ready this week.

Boycott Celcom !!!

no contract too, can terminate after 2 days too
i used it b4, good for normal surfing but not bt and it hav single individual dynamic ip rclxms.gif

as for my sialcom d98 which i hav juz upgraded, sweat.gif mad.gif mad.gif the speed is still at D68 speed, even worst than b4, cause i used to get 420 kbps on the d68
if i knoe tat this will happen, i wont bother to upgrade at all

The D68 and D98 Plan Sim can send and receive SMS just cannot receive Voice/Call.

Between that, my friend do exprerience that the Upgrade problems.
because your Sim is registered under D68 and when Upgrades usually take up 1 month.
This is because they have to finish the period where D68 package before doing that transfer.

For those of you who received that message, perhaps you could do a bandwidth test and let us see how much will they throttle. hmm.gif
