icon_question.gif I'm looking for a pigtail antenna for ZTE MF622 HSDPA usb modem. I saw there is a connector underneath the modem for antenna

Anyone has any idea where to get this kind of stuff?

Thanks

Hi

just got the same modem. As it is a 3 modem I rang their support. According to them this antenna socket is only for 2.5G mobile networks. 3 does not recommand to attach anything to it. So if you are looking for a antenna to improve the 3G signal that might not be an option. I also wrote a mail to ZTE but still wait for a reply

Why do you need the antenna?

Hi

I still have no reply of ZTE to this.

But now to this:

The guys of the three support told me that the modem has two antennas build in. One which transmits on GSM/2G frequencies. This antenna is connected with the antenna port at the back. The second antenna operates at the G3 frequencies. For frequencies see: http://www.gsmworld.com/using/spectrum/frequencies.shtml. This sounds conclusive to me (I am speculating too, only ZTE can say something more about this issue or an engineer who deassambles this modem).

In my opinion the best would be if as many owners of this modem as posible would write emails to the support of ZTE to get more detailed informations. I am looking for more information to get this device running under openSuSE aswell. So please to everyone send them emails. Their url is http://wwwen.zte.com.cn/ and this is their email support@zte.com.cn.

As soon as I get more information I'll post them here.

Brother, modem itself got the installer. i just get the experience few days ago from u-mobile. u can use celcom on it. tested and no problem, what you need to do is go to the setting side and add a new profile and dont type anything over there. try to reconnect it. any problem you can post it here and i will do my best to solve your problem.

For MAC, no need to find drivers. Just install with the CD that comes along with it, plug in your ZTE and you're good to go.

Tested on my Hackintosh with Celcom.

As for people who have problem with the installer popping up, try this:

(1) If connect using the long USB cable, make sure you plug BOTH USB into your PC.

(2) If one way doesn't works, try to swap it or to other USB ports.

(3) Or just use the short USB cable and plug to one USB port. Again, if it doesn't work, try other USB ports.

I've the same problem on one of my laptop. According to the seller, it's due to some USB ports not enough juice to power it.

On other PCs and laptops, the installer can pop up without any problems. I suggest in the event the installer pop up in your explorer.

MAKE A COPY OF IT TO YOUR HARD DISK OR SOMEWHERE ELSE.

So you still have a copy of it next time in case the mysterious drive doesn't shows up again.
