The difference is

E220 (Only HSDPA)
a) bigger in size
b) heavier
c) packed up to HSDPA 7.2mbps downlink and 384kbps uplink  technology only

E172 (HSUPA ready)
a) smaller in size
b) lighter
c) packed up for future HSDPA 14.4mbps downlink and HSUPA 5.76mbps uplink technology with a future firmware upgrade

Hope that helps...

Thank you...

Hello, E172 adalah future packed model... Anda tak boleh bandingkan dengan VM10 kerana ianya hanya support sampai HSDPA, manakala E172 supports up to HSUPA... Daripada pengalaman saya, semua modem pun menjadi panas selepas digunakan untuk seketika... Performance must be improved by our local telcos and the modems are just like a replacement for phones... Hope that helps... Thank you...

Hi.

I have an e172 Vodafone modem. Its been unlocked and can be used with all telcos but have problem with the voice call.
Try to flash its firmware to e172 latest firmware (E17XUpdate_11.311.05.01.00.B409.exe) but no Call function menu. Also try flash to Huawei E169 (UTPS11.030.01.04.03.B409.exe) able to get the voice menu but have problem with the voice call. It can call out but unable to hear B party voice, B party also can hear me. Cant end the call also and need to end task to exit the Mobile partner program.

Do you have unlock service just for the voice function for this e172 modem? How much will it be?

Hi again,

Yes, HSUPA devices are capable to achieve uplink up to 2mbps (up to 5.76mbps in future) and HSDPA devices are only restricted up to 384kbps only...

Hope that helps...

Thank you...
