I will be travelling down to Melbourne for 2 days, before heading to Gold Coast for about 5 days, and finally heading over to Sydney for 2 days.

Any suggestions where to stay in Melbourne & Gold Coast? (Accomodation settled for Sydney liao)

Looking for something cheap & value for money... below AUD $80... thanks!!

Aside, what to do in Melbourne ah? biggrin.gif

Can tumpang this thread ya?

I've already booked my tix for the Gold Coast this coming September... It's gonna be a 7D7N trip and i'll be doing a self-drive, not just in the GC but also towards Brisbane and Sunshine Coast...

For the GC, i should be staying for 4 nights... Therefore, for those of u who are familiar with the place, what are the recommended apartments to stay?

Oh ya, before i forget, my preferred areas are either the Surfers' Paradise or Broadbeach, mainly for shopping + F&B convenience!

staying 4 nites in GC is a waste of time...i would advise you to stay 2 nites in Gc, 2 nites in Brissy, 1 nite in Outback ( out site of Brisbane ) and 1 nite in Sunshine Coast. GC, brissy and SC is within 100 miles radius so getting a car is useless....and might land into trouble...aussie is very strcit abt the road....take public transport instead..it's very very very convienent and very punctual...they even have GPS install in the busses to tell the exact time of arrival and delay.

Thanks for the advice, bro... Well, i've changed my plans and will be taking the car to Brisbane only from the 4th day onwards... We shall return the car on the 7th day as the 8th day is morning departure back to KL...

Actually we're looking at 3 nights at Surfers, two in Brissy (including day trip to Tangalooma), and another two in Broadbeach (for the casino + makan-makan!)...

Good choice for revising your plan...but actually no point taking car in Brissy....just take the train from GC to Brisbane...and wahlaaa!..u in the city centre already.....

- Surfer paradise
- ripley's Believe it Or NOT
-Redcliff
- Jupiter casino ( if u need some pocket $$$ )

Brissy

- OUTBACK ( never go never been to Sunshine State )
- brisbane Bronco Stadium ( Rugby way of life in aussie )

- Queen Street mall ( shopping shopping )
- SouthBank ( nice park )
- Mount Cootha ( nice place to over look brissy )
- City Cat ( Nice Boat ride along the river, and it;s cheap to ride along )

Hi there - something that is fun to do in Gold Coast is quite unique and is Hot Air Ballooning, in the Gold Coast we have a price for a balloon ride at $220 for flight transfers and breakfast , which is $120 less than in Me lbourne and we have much more reliable balloon weather here too. So why not give it a go , it is an early morning tour but quite awe inspiring at sunrise. Drop us a line or checkout on the web.
BTW driving to Brisbane from the Coast only takes one hour so you dont need to allow all day to do that, anyway we hope to see you up in the air one morning and good luck with your planning, let me know if you have any questions
Andrew

What your budget and location that you prefer? I stayed in Copacabana Hotel Apartment when I was there last month. The place was okay but the amenities in the apartment is a bit old. But it is opposite Q1 should you want to visit the sky deck
