It's good for normal budget gaming. It works well for HTPC setups - power efficient and silent.

If you need more sauce, then add a dedicated GPU.

ohh i almost forget...confirm for vista only? aiyah i am planning to buy a new rig for less than 1500...

my spec is...amd x2 5000+ BE, 800 mhz 2x1gb,wd 160gb, gigabyte 460W, $100 casing

since i am new to amd system can recommend me a mobo and graphic card...i thought of getting the 780G chipset mobo and a cheap graphic card but since the hybrid thing is for vista only... sad.gif

can help to recommend an AMD mobo and gpu (ati or nvidia ?) able to play HD movies (without lagging) & maybe play some games like Dota, CS, AGE of Empire...? mobo have latest chipset and pci 2.0...

You update the BIOS to latest version and default clock will be at massive 1100Mhz. The VGA chipset is severely underclocked.

Whoa... Gigabyte has removed the F3e BIOS that clocks the VGA chip at 1.1Ghz. The F3 BIOS is still at 900Mhz though, a cool 400Mhz upgrade. I still have the F3E version on my HDD though if anyone wants it, but there may be some bugs in it to make Gigabyte to pull out the BIOS.

It is cheap because it is not high-end.

The chipset wasn't targeted to gaming enthusiasts like 790FX or even 770 did. For example, I do not think 780G motherboard support proper Crossfire (not the Hybrid version). In fact I think 780G is the low-end of AMD 7xx chipset series.
