I'm planning to buy a new laptop sometime soon.

I heard PC fair is coming to KL on the 11th of April. Is it really true that the best deals can still be found at PC fair? I heard it's not the case anymore, with the opening of places like Digital Mall. How much cheaper than normal can I expect?

If it is so, how can I get ahold of the price lists before hand? So that I can know what I can afford, and do research accordingly.

I also heard certain companies like Dell will provide promotions for online sales during the PC fair period, but I've not read of any promotions on their .my site even though PC fair is just 2 weeks away.

Advice pls. >_>

i think more cheaper if u go buy at low yat...becoz at pc fair it a same item and same shop selling at low yat only they open booth at pc fair and have to pay a some amount for that booth.

last time i buy something at pc fair..price is same at the low yat...

my opinion is why should we wait for pc fair if we can go to low yat anytime any day to buy item what we want...

Don't so fast jump to a conclusion.
Some items are cheaper in the Fair.Especially certain items need big commitment.
As an example, take a look at Acer or Lenovo Notebook.

I was an exhibitor for the 3 days nearly almost every fair I be there if we have booth.Hence, I have a bit experienced with the fair.
During previous PC Fair ,I saw a company sold Lenovo notebook below market price (Cheaper than LYP).To proof me right, you must buy the notebook in the last minute ,i.e on last day around 7pm-9pm before closed at 9pm.

Cheers

Be patient la....Wait for last minute "nego" price from seller at Pc Fair....
Price drop a lot when in the end of the day ( let say at sunday 10 pm ++)
Wait and see....Just hang around there babe....You might found one.....
But if you aiming for model or brand, just go to lowyat or google yourself on
"appropriate places" (such as lyn, lelongor moderno)... tongue.gif

Just an advice babe... whistling.gif

I'm not aiming for a particular model or brand, just a good deal for a decent laptop (my current one is 4 years old).

So basically pc fair is only worth it if you go at the last minute? Otherwise better to just go lowyat? How about digital mall, is lowyat cheaper?

Allow me help put your in a wider view.If without PC Fair, good bargainning computer place such as LYP,the price would not as cheap as during the PC Fair period.Computer components range to thousands items. How are you going to differentiate every single unit in terms of pricing ?
Majority of items you found in LYP same like in PC fair because it deemed as common components. When I said common components mean items quickily come into your brain such as memory, harddisk,Lcd etc where you can list them easily.
What the last point that me try to figure out here is because of PC Fair resulted LYP's price selling more or less same price.Hence,Pc Fair stimulus lower price to other.

Cheers
