If you don't download games demos, movies trailers, tv shows previews or applications trials then Maxis WBB is for you smile.gif

Not only that, don't download windows updates, game updates, online game patches, application patches. etc.

The last L4D update was 120 megs, TF2 had a 140 meg update.

Don't forget all the other downloads also take it's toll. 2 to 3 refreshes on LYN is already a meg.

exactly my point. even for a simple Windows XP update (upon fresh install) takes over 250MB, and that is only the first update. consequent updates are easily around 50MB.

simply put, Maxis is actually BS-ing you when they claim that have conducted a survey and the average usage is 3GB. loads of bull crap in this IT age, when everything is available online, but with Maxis, they expect you to only know about, but dont touch it, click it, or use it. see only, no touchy touchy.

the average user (in Maxis term) are ppl from stone age who just gotten a pc.

My current updates from 31st of October to 2nd of November. For IE8 and MS office 03, Compatibility Service packs (MSO), 28mb, cumulative update for IE8, 12mbs, cumulative security updates/Miscellenous, 20mbs. Language pack updates. 26mbs. I'm not even including silverlight and other updates they have.

My usage is already 500mbs from the aforementioned L4D/TF2 patches, then the other updates that I've missed due to the effing 12kbit/s problem I had. This is on the 2nd of November. ~_~

Coverage is still same.

Only diff is the new usb E1762 modem supports
7.2mbps DL
5.4 mbps UP
Have micro sd slot.

Your package 384 speed capping so u cant go faster than 384 kbps...
Where u use it? How much u pay mthly for your ZTE modem?

If at HSDPA coverage area den its okla 2 use.

Any comments on this package?

1.5 Gig for RM48/month with FREE modem, and FREE first 2 months subscription. So that will be about RM40/month with free modem. (if you subscribe more for 12 months). The catch is if you terminate the subscription before 6 months, you wont' get the free modem. I suspect the rebates for modem will only be given from 6th month onwards, so technically this is a 1 year contract.

Looks like a good deal.... what do you all think?

Err,, 1.5 gb? u use for basic use okla.. 1.5gb very small size.. if i use, less than few days sure use up all the quota and speed will be very slow hardly can open any websites.
Maxis have penalty RM200 if terminate early rite?

I'm using the >12GB packg. Every mth i use exceed also no problem laugh.gif

Use at office near KLCC all the time. Have HSDPA coverage full bars.
Download at Rapidshare, Ziddu, Filesend, megaupload can get downloadspeed about 40KB/sec - 138 KB/sec
= about 300kbps - 1 Mbps.

Check out the speed i get . brows.gif

I'm using maxis broadband huawei model and happily downloading stuff at average 300-350 kb/s (better than my home streamyx 160kb/s only). At this point I'm very2 happy with maxis when suddeny my download speed only 5-10kb/s. There's a limit for this? ?

Which data package plan you are using?
If your data usage already exceed your mthly data plan, the speed will be capped down. maybe around < 64kbps

U can chk here for its packages.
