Linux is fully configurable because it is open source. On networking side, it is definitely on par or more powerful than Windows Server in term of configuration and flexibility.
And the number of open source applications available for every task that we ever wanted to is staggering...

Fed up with Windows. Every few months I need to either take time to defragment it or fresh install it.

Windows installation:
1, Windows copy
2, Drivers + numerous restart
3, Software installation

Ubuntu installation:
1, Install from live CD
2, Er...

Somehow, both system get my job done, but maintenance wise I would go for Ubuntu. After all, it is not too bad to learn another new system.

Although it's maybe they gonna have it, but for me it's also very difficult to find it in LYP.
And I don't think in Malaysia will be 40% of notebooks/laptops/desktops/ sold with Linux OS inside because currently this country still being ruled by Microsoft/Windows.... laugh.gif

M'soft is still dominating the share here in Malaysia. Plus not many people know about the existence of this OS. Most of us will be like heck yeah, I heard about Linux
before with the tux penguin but I've never used it. I was having the same dilemma too last time not until I tried Ubuntu for real I was so fascinated with its technology.
I couldn't agree more that Linux has many weirdo commands and it seems like most of us are not really familiar with the hard disk system.

Yeah, but it takes time to understand. And for me, some of my friends asked me 'Ever heard of Linux or not ?' I said 'Yeah, I know and I've used them' They said what's that I've explained to them as far as I know A-Z maybe, and they said 'Naah, free software neither means privacy or rubbish' I thought in my mind, what's wrong with them, short minded or what?
That's why, we as the Linuxers to spread the goodness of Linux.

Linux box is always the best. Far superior than any Win base in regards to processing capability, virus control, transparency, heavy duty processes, millions transaction with ease and many-many more...
