the cap seems abnormal like the others said. if i were you, prepare for the worst that might happen and use till the last minutes.

i have seen a p2 mobo will 60% of the caps all kembang and leaking still running well.

yalo......i know rm 6xx for quad is cheap.... but using 600 can get a c2d with a mobo le...... i agreed with Ed, POCKET is the BOSS now.... i never think of upgrading pc now... pocket dry. especially my sis just went in uni yesterday, think of getting her a laptop already head8

confirm caps issue. i have seen tonnes of these. yours bulging bottom, common cases are bulging top.

Haha.. No no.. I dont even can utilized my current system. How dare i poison u guys.. But then, if anyone found a good chance to jump. Just make a jump! Worth it! Well.. After upgrade, i still use it like how i use my P4. Nothing new for me.

.. Finally found that Core Duo is not sufficient for multi task. Quad is the best! Feel the pain on ass when both of the core is 100% been utilized for encoding. Cant wait for neleham core with HT enable. Still remember the old when use P4 do encoding, although takes longer time but atleast the system still quite responsive due of the HT.

fylon, u r pushing it. quad will also be sluggish on max utilisation, the only positive is that it takes less time to complete its tasks. quad will also not feel 'best' already, u might need to get dual socket mobo for dual quad CPU for torturing and satisfying your *lust*.

nehalem with the revival of HT will be more responsive due to more efficient instructions on multithreading applications. preliminary tests has shown that there are improvements in certain areas with HT technology enabled, better load balancing and improved optimisation of multitasking instructions per core.

Even now with my beloved P4 3.0Ghz desktop, I can still do tonnes of job with it. Just depends how much u r willing to compromise your work vs. speed. What you need vs. What you want. Now, most of my time @ home is spent on my P4-M 2.0Ghz lappy running @ 1.2Ghz for IM, surfing, downloading and also paperwork. It rocks. Guess I am used to work on a lappy more than a desktop since I am using a lappy too @ office, also a P4 3.0Ghz. My work/home life is still based on P4 systems, hehe... long live P4 i lap u bery bery muchie... This proves that P4 system still survives today in the new era of multicores.

I am not defending single cores, I am not being a fanboy, I am not being stubborn, just being logical and realistic. Will only move onto new systems when forced to do so (u guys know what i mean lah). Meanwhile, we shall enjoy with what our s478 rig can provide us with.

P/S: congratz to kabukiawie for purchasing a new COMPAQ v38xxAU series lappy... have fun with it~! it is quite a bargain...

oh, i got myself a new backpack, lowepro fastpack 250 (lubangz, hohoho), fits all the gadgets i need for an outing and travelling... smashing!

Lol.. Yea! What u say are true. Although current C2D are fast in doing task, but then sluggish happen when all the cores fully been use. Dual cpu mobo? Just saw it at PC image last week.. Intel Skull Trail. Cost of the mobo is enough to build a entry level C2D gaming system. RM23xx.. 1 lappy!

32mn with HT.. Im waiting for it. Will use current system until the new 1 release. But then see my pocket got holes to be burn or not 1st.
Yeap. P4 although is slow is encoding, but then its rock due of the HT. Haha! Last time can half mp3 half encoding. Now? The mp3 playing will got throttled. Miss the old time memory where P4 is applied.

using p4 1.6ghz..just realize that i forget to attach wire for cpu fan..been using for 1++ hours..(im clearing dust inside this morning)..

Yea. When the cores been fully ultilized. Edmin says, even quad will have sluggish as well. Well.. I miss my P4 so much. The HT function really helps alot. Now aiming for Nehalem.

P/s: P4 is rock man.. Atleast for me.. Can encode while listen to mp3 and the song wont be throttled.

yup... i bought v3828au... good value for the price. <2k what to expect?? cheapest c2d also over 2k++ with 512bm ram... poor people like me only manage to get <2k type... celeron sorry la... get turionX2 better.

By the way,any good converter that can convert rmvb to avi or wmv files other than EO Video? I use EO Video quite a long time ago till today.

yup..the fan doesnt spinning at all..quite hot actually...around 70-75 celcius..well this is my 3rd time forgot to install back cpu fan wire after clearing dust thanks to 3 fan (1x120mm, 2x80mm)...my proc still survive

Haha.. Is more to a comparison thread for now. But then.. Really i like the HT function on P4. At least the instruction load is been balanced up. But just it take ages to complete a task.
