AVG and PC-Cillin shouldn't even be in the list. My vote goes to ESET NOD32.

Agreed! Winpatrol is one of HIPS application (Host-Intruder Prevention System). Similar to IDS on kaspersky and a-squared antimalware, but with better protection. But for beginner @ intermediate computer user, I don't recommend this. It's quite annoying when you don't know what the popup is all about... flex.gif

For free antivirus i would recommend avira. Otherwise, kaspersky is the best! Serve me well for the last 4 years! thumbup.gif

yeah..he missed a lot.
Panda,NOD32,Avast!,Bitdefender

i vote for Kaspersky.
have been using KAV 2007 for almost 2 yrs,
and never give me problems.virus detection good and no laggy at all(compared to previous version of Kaspersky)
bfore i use Kasperky,i use NOD32...at first 5 months it does good but after a year using,it sucks.
virus detection of NOD32 is very weak compared to Kasperky.but i notice that NOD32 run lighter than Kaspersky

i'm currently using bitdefender.
its the best antivirus software money can buy according to this site.
http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
but there's another one that i had used for like 3 years before switching to bitdefender which is the symantec cooperate client.
its a very light and superb antivirus software i think.
but i switched to bitdefender because it has no firewall.
