it can receive free satellite channels, known as FTA channel. FTA = Free To Air.

However... perhaps, you also need a satellite dish???

From what i know regarding this satellite pci tv card, it has antenna input, which I
believe should be from a satellite dish. But then, if it needs satellite dish, that I'm sure it's illegal..
since satellite dish has been made illegal for a very long time and it can be easily spotted by authority..

Here is another site that sell similar items.. LINK HERE

In that websites, it is stated

System Requirements
. Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000/XP
. Microsoft(R) DirectX9.0C or later
. Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Media Player 9.0 or later
. P4 2G MHZ CPU or above
. 256MB RAM or above
. VGA card with at least 32MB memory
. Sound card or on board sound chip
. Digital Satellite Dish & LNB doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

it a fantastic card to watch FTA Satellite Channels,
but I am more interested in using the card to intercept International
Internet Transmissions on Satellites, the amount of data it grabs in 24hrs can
fill upto 30GB per day, type of files able to intercept, hmm... every imaginable files
including those used by Secret Services, FBI, Satellite VOIP Calls, intercompany business
presentations, companies account spreadsheet, secret love letters, too many to list them out rclxub.gif

we have installed this system to a lot of our intelligence service agencies, sorry can't reveal
who are the agencies using it here in malaysia, it's classified as OSA.

the basic software to use with this card is SkyGrabber:

Hi,

I've seen this kind of satellite dish in my area.. Is this the one you guys say that can view TVB? What other function can this dish serve?

BTW, I'm not from East Malaysia.

oops.gif Although it is illegal, but it is more like only illegal in west malaysia. So far, in east malaysia, at least in sarawak, it is some what "legal" thumbup.gif Since no authority will come to visit you and ask you to remove it. Lot of people in Sarawak installed illegal satellite dish. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

As far as I know, Malaysia has a regulation on how big a satellite dish can be, and Astro is at the limit of it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm not sure about this myself
