SP1 is mainly a big pack of hotfixes and patches since Vista hit the store... so any Vista machine should be able to install it...

some what, performance gain is hardly noticeable on my laptop with 2GB RAM, and additional 1GB as ReadyBoost

connection btw TM and microsoft is real bad...

updates cannot be download is usual... just restart modem and get new ip and try agn

some of my update just go until half n it will stop there.maybe i tick too many update at one go

Restart your computer and modem. Maybe due to your IP problem. I never tick updates, I just put on automatic update and I never download and install those optional updates.
