i found tat my e2160 modded cannot get higher than 2.8 at msi p35 neo f mobo, while a original e2160 can go above 3.0 on it,so...after modded will block the potential of overclock ?

QUOTE(ronho @ Apr 18 2008, 10:45 PM) conductive pen aint cheap, at least like rm80 or something QUOTE(xk2 @ Apr 19 2008, 02:19 AM) i found tat my e2160 modded cannot get higher than 2.8 at msi p35 neo f mobo, while a original e2160 can go above 3.0 on it,so...after modded will block the potential of overclock ? are you comparing stock & modded on the particular e2160 on ur P35? u don need to BSEL mod for P35, unless u wanna it to boot @ 266fsb everytime |

my fren got an e2160 which is put on p35,it can overclock to 2.88 daily use, then i wan to see my modded e2160 if put on p35 can overclock more than 2.88 or not,but the result is cannot ,it only manage to archieve 2.6
cannot wait to test my modded e2160 on my asrock wolfdale1333 board This post has been edited by xk2: Apr 21 2008, 05:04 PM |

Its not the same, not all CPU with same overclockability. |

Pop ur fren's cpu n i'm sure it will do 2.88ghz on your board (assuming ur board isnt the limiting factor) QUOTE(allenultra @ Apr 21 2008, 10:26 AM) not suitable to put e2160 on p35 chipset? if then how my e2160 did 3ghz on my gaygaybyte? ur friend e2160 != your e2160. Well.. i can always help out on the "kitchen foil mod", for a fee of course
Anyway... for the 945GC based mobos, u only need the 266MHz BSEL mod as you'll be overclocking the chipset to 333MHz FSB, instead of making the chip think it's a 333MHz FSB processor. I so far have no luck whatsoever with getting my BSEL modded to work in P35 chipsets though, have to remove it only it'll boot in my P35 motherboard(s) but it works wonderful on my 945GC motherboard(s). |

geniousboy, no one will know how far you can OC.
ronho, you answer will be same like geniousboy's Q. E2160 is meant to run at 1.6ghz, Intel never gurantee how far it can overclock. Some E2160 max out at 333fsb, which is 3ghz, some max out at 350fsb..... some even max out at 300fsb only. So do you guys get it? Not all CPU manufactured have the same overclockability. If so, why people busy looking for stepping, reading review, etc? No free lunch dude. |

It's to 'fool' the NB strap so it doesnt limit prematurely. the 945GC is only good on 266fsb. from there onwards, manually adjust the fsb till ur cpu maxes out@ stock vcore QUOTE(allenultra @ Apr 25 2008, 03:28 PM) geniousboy, no one will know how far you can OC. ronho, you answer will be same like geniousboy's Q.
