Yeah..my time shuffle doesn't work. Even i click it, it doesn't happen, it just shuffle all the songs in my player.

You need to set the time and date in Settings, Common Settings, Set Date and Time.

Make sure some of your song got year in ID3 tag.

Got o... I got 1000+ songs & most of them got ID3 Tag. I used the same songs Before & After i formatted it. After formatting, it won't work.

I tried checking whether the tracks contain the RELEASE YEAR in the player but to no avail, it showed me UNKNOWN. So i tried copying the tracks from my player to the computer, in the computer, the tracks has the RELEASE YEAR such as 2004 or 2005. But the player itself, the time shuffle thingy doesn't work & the release year for all the tracks can't be seen, not even 1.

Problem
I have transferred songs with a release year tag. However, on the player, they are not correctly detected and are displayed as Unknown.

Solution
1) If you drag and drop the songs by Window Explorer, it can occur that the release years cannot be displayed properly. If it occurs, transfer the songs by Windows Media Player 11 to the player.

or

2) If you connect your S series player via MSC instead of MTP, the ID3 "year" tag transfers just fine via drag-n-drop with Windows Explorer (WinXP SP3 with WMP 11).

Change your player to MSC
1. Pull up your Device Manager
2. Right click the Walkman and go to "Update Driver..."
3. Select "Install from a list or specific locations (Advanced)"
4. Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install."
5. Choose the "USB Mass Storage Device" and hit next

Yeap! It works! Sorry for the trouble.

Before i formatted it, i used drag & drop, it was OK. After i reformatted it, i used drag & drop, not OK. So have to use WMP 11.

In anycase, i had mind replaced earlier on. Thanks to nordingh. The replacement earphone is not shiny plastic like the old one but matt rubber n cables are better built but then better wait n see if it'll harden or not as before.

Sound signiture is different ie bass is less pronounced. Out of the box the replacement sounds very good thus burning in was easy.

Got my NWZ-S738 yesterday

Delivery was a day late than scheduled. But lemme iterate that it's NOT the seller's fault! freakin' Pos Laju has got to be the CRAPPIEST courier service ever! Kudos to the seller for great communication and went out of his way pestering Pos Laju when my item did not arrived on time.

Nonetheless, i am pretty pleased with the NWZ-S738. Noise cancelling earphone is sweet. Music playback and clarity is awesome. Beats the crap out of iPod hands down... Haven't tried the video playback though...

Currently blasting metal on my player. let's hope i don't get hearing impairment soon.
