Idle at 80, load 100. That's about the same as my foiled 3 way 4890 CFX project. Is it stable for continuous use at those temperatures?

My current (2 way CFX) idle 65-70 and load 80-90 also I think it's too hot already. Changing casing soon.

Now you tell me... hahaha okay then, 3 way 4890 CFX is back on the cards, along with a better casing. Can't add extra fans on my Raven.

Anyone tried fitting to GTX285 with tri-fan in any fulltower casing before?

I am thinking of adding another GPU with the same cooler.

Lower than mine @.@

Mine is Quadro FX5600, using G80 chipset, so should be consider the "same" lol.

Anyway, Mine Idle 7X, Load 9X. Near 100 ish.

If I have FX4600 as a dedicated physx, then second card will be 100-ish cause not enough air.

Will it melt by time I mean the PCB? Coz noticing my 8800GTS when you look in under bright light, the PCB kinda look darker around the main core sweat.gif

Helo guys... its been a long time since my last visit.. bdband probs..

Got some Q here..
I'm planning upgrading to i7 by this year end, ive done my calculation, around Rm5K to be spend on i7, meaning i gonna biuld the setup from sratch..

OR if i just upgrade my GPU to...say.... GTX285?? And a HDMi 24" LCD Mon...

Which one is more considerable??

Is it worth go from my current CPU to i7???

COZ ive just read at some other forum says that upgrading GPU is more advisable than spending more on i7 (standard speed)... coz they say E6600 OC to 3.2, 3.5 even 3.6ghz is enough to process todays latest games.. because games is more utilise GPU rather than CPU...

U guys can see my sig.. ive manage OC my old E6600 to 3.26ghz.. more than that, it'll crashhh... biggrin.gif

According to FiringSquad, you can SLI 9800GTX+ and GTS250 provided they have the same amount of memory. e.g. 512MB 9800GTX+ must pair with 512MB GTS250.

QUOTE(Firingsquad)
NVIDIA says the GeForce GTS 250 will run in SLI with the 9800 GTX+, but the two cards must have the same amount of memory in order for SLI to function: you won’t be able to pair a 1GB GeForce GTS 250 with a 512MB GeForce 9800 GTX+.

I'd recommend you to upgrade the latter choice (GTX285 + Mon). Core i7 motherboard is not worth the price yet. Your current CPU is good enough if it runs at 3+GHz.

EDIT: Have you considered SLI GTX275? I think it's around RM200 more than GTX285 only but the performance is much better.
EDIT2: Or you can keep your SLI 8800GT now, and wait for GT300 to be released.

If its true.. whats the price tag than?? 2k??

And i guess im gonna quit SLI for a while... Coz a single GTX285 is on par or more slightly than my current SLi'ed 8800GT rght??
