Hello to all.

I recently bought a GTS250 card and thinking about SLi-ing it (if there's such a word  laugh.gif). I was wondering whether my current PSU which is a Strider 560W is capable of handling it or should I upgrade my PSU? If so, what type of PSU would you guys recommend?

Thanx in advance.  notworthy.gif

Go to Nvidia's site called SLIzone. They have a PSU recommendations thingy there. U can see exactly what PSUs have been certified for SLI usage by Nvidia according to which cards ur using.

Ya...is enough...each GTS250 just need 1 6 pic Power Conenctor only...Sliverstone ST56F PSU got 2 6 pin power connector so is very enough

Thank you all. I was browsing through SLIzone but didn't find my PSU there. I was considering GTX260+ as a single card solution if my PSU can't handle the SLI configuration. So if what Cid said is true, then I can start saving money for another GTS250 card. rclxm9.gif

another SLI user, currently using dual gigabyte 9800gtx+ and my experience is, not every game could possible get a good performance when enable SLI mode. Intially i predicted it is like double performance when playing any game in SLI mode. well, there are 2 games that seems to get a quite good performance which are CRYSIS warhead and FARCRY2.

SLI mode
For crysis warhead, running at 1440x900, max setting but without AA runs at average 35-40fps. (Disable SLI >> 20-25fps)

For farcry2, running at 1440x900, ultra high with AAx4 runs at average 60fps. (Disable SLI >> 40-45fps)

So far the rest of the game does not seems like increase that much performance when enable SLI mode somemore drop.

It's already very good. Especially now that it does multiple screens set up which ppl have been asking for such a long time. Anyway, the guy's expectation of 100% improvement is unrealistic. 2 way sli scales about 50%. For 100% improvement u need 3 way sli.

i dont think nvidia is the one that needs to fix anything...

i believe its more to the game developers to include multi-gpu support into their games.

like COD4...really benefits from SLI.... from my own test which i posted on page 15

Most of the big titles run SLI. The smaller titles that don't utilize SLI are mostly not very intensive n run fine on 1 card anyway.

Most Big Games does Support SLI but it also need takes times to make it support

-GTA4 is big games but it does not support SLI..very bad news.
-Big games like HAWK at 1st month it release it does not support SLI but after 1 month Nvidia rlease newest driver then this game support already.
-Big games like Empire Total War it takes 3 and half month to wait for Nvidia release new drive that make this game support SLI

heh gtx295 also count as sli kan?

quite fun to test out the single card/split screen/a.f.r.(alternate frame rendering)1 or 2 rendering method.

tested on prototype with split screen and a.f.r 1 suffers major performance hit.

Actually, COH is very common for that.... laugh.gif

And if Starcraft 2 were to be released, I bet all systems must be SLi equipped to play this game (if it supports SLi that is) coz during beta testing, all the test machines couldn't take it when a lot of units are flooding the screen....
