Guys, Which one more efficient to make money, Google ads or more nuffnang ads?

depends on your traffic la.

i've knowns some sites that have lesser traffic that most of us but still earns a few k RM a month. using Adsense of course.

Added on January 7, 2008, 1:13 pmoh and if i'm not mistaken, Adsense clicks - you're paid more if users are from US / Europe. i have no links / resource to prove this BUT i think someone shared to me before.

another thing to note is quite a few ad companies i come by that prefer site that have majority of the site visitors to be from US / Canada.

Screw advertlets.. till now, no proper email being send to all their members.. Just because they are getting bigger, we blogger dont worth a dime anymore to them.. This time let just teach them a lesson.. Say NO to advertlet and other stupid advertiser! Let them know we are not just a mere blogger who dying to get their cents..

yes, you are very right. They should email all their publisher and inform them the problem, but none.

here's the strange thing guys, I'm currently at 1-Utama using Celcom 3G.

I can load Advertlets.com and see my comment is still awaiting moderation. The thing is this, when their own JS loads on their site - it still gets forwarded to that Adbazz or something.

I donno la, can load the .com but the JS (which loads from the .com) will not load properly. oh well.

anyway a sentence in the blog update said that "A complication in the renewal process caused the Advertlets.com domain to expire" - if there was REALLLY a complication in renewal process, then a notification should be issued - WEEKS before the domain expires.

domain name is a damn important thing. it's funny how it could expire, knowing Advertlets is such a huge thing.

I was their supporter. I liked them. This has truly disappointed me. Worse still, i forgot to remove it totally from 1 of my smaller community site. Haha, lucky the traffic was small. The thing is when I tested it yesterday, no redirection happened. so I though resolving la. Mana tau today my community say got issue. aihh..........should've removed it completely when i could instead of assuming.

I dont believe a single things about domain name expired and etc.. We are talking about company with ppl who had many years of experienced with the internet.. To me, they are just plain lazy, egoistic and not professional at all.. Here, lemme show an example..

What happened?

A complication in the renewal process caused the Advertlets.com domain to expire, and caused issues for bloggers with our ads installed, which made their blogs redirect to a placeholder page. It was not our intent to do so. Advertlets.com blog users were unable to login to their Advertlets accounts and access the website as well.
If a complication happen in renewal process, the problem should be detected way before the date it expired.. From the way it was written, you can expect the problem to appear like this.. "Ok today we will renew our domain.. 5 min later.. Aiyak.. Got problem.. Ok nvm.. we'll wait till monday.."

How many did it affect?

According to our statistics, it affected 30-65% of traffic to our network over the past 2 days. On most days, we experience between 3-4 million ad impressions per day. The viewers of most blogs were affected in some way, depending on the nature of how DNS settings would resolve in different countries and ISPs. Some would resolve faster, some would not, which caused varying experiences for viewers in different places.
Any idiot would know that more than 65% of their network were affected.. And did they forgot to mention their credibility were affected too? Nah.. instead this ego maniac just go ahead and boast about their 3-4 million ad impressions per day..

What can I do to resolve the problem?

You can follow some troubleshooting steps listed at http://advertlets.blogspot.com, a site temporarily set up to assist in this issue. Or, you can remove your code for the time being, and we will notify you when it has been fully resolved.
Like my previous post. they dont even bother to email us on what is happening.. no apology or whatsoever and now we had to go through different channel.. follow step by step instruction just to fix a problem that was created by them? That's just stupid..

sad to say..for a web dev/designer for many years..this prob should never even exist.but my question is still...y us a JS that redirects?about time to change the codes..iframe or something

no worries..im using advertlets still...as long as u pay me..thats where the loyalties is....world is about money rite...tats the reason why ur doing this biz.not entirely about passion.

come to think of it. don't you think 30% - 65% is too huge a margin for % range? that's 35% range. and i doubt it's 30% when all Advertlets user are affected by the domain issue.

now assuming
75% blogger use Advertlets.
75% blogger use Nuffnang.

assuming that 50% are shared by them, after all us Malaysians would basically install anything that has chance of getting $$$.

add the recent crisis at Advertlets. this means
- a portion will surely jump ship (Advertlets only people become Nuffnang only)
- a portion will abandon Advertlets (those that have both Adv and NN but decides to drop Adv)

so we're basically looking at a (huge) shift in the balance of power. i think the competition is good but that mistake + NN's major upgrades really widen the gap.

sorry, i know i sound pessimistic.

plus nuffnang came out with a package -> nuffnang Glifetti
if you will get extra income and advantage if u do NOT have any ads from any other ad network that originates from South East Asia besides nuffnang..

I expect those who jump ship will stay in nuffnang for good..

Yah complicated renewal domain, my local company domain is renew every TEN YEAR and only have few hundred page view perday ......

No worry your negative feed back to advertlets will never post up cause they only show positive feed back ....


For me i giving up advertlets very long time but still giving them some hope (actually is money talk).
