eh fren, you're selling Web Design Service but seriously i think you have A LOT OF ROOM for improvement.

1. you're still stating " Site is meant to be viewed using the latest Internet Explorer or Firefox." ? that's so outdated.

as a web designer your site should be viewable on ALL browsers. it shouldn't be a problem if you practise using valid XHTML / CSS.

2. you're using a lot of tables. sad.gif bad and old design way to go. learn CSS for layout / styling

3. your links are STILL wrong. it's bad impression for you! look, i've seen your site quite a while back and the links were like that back then and it's still as bad right now.

you have to fix your link.

click HOME then BLOG = fail
click PORTFOLIO then BLOG = fail
click CONTACT US then BLOG = fail

fail in what sense? fail that the loaded page is......... shakehead.gif

4. your site fails XHTML and CSS validation.

-------------------

Sorry if my comments sound harsh. I hope you can take it. smile.gif After all, you asked "So, what you guys think ?"

I dont mind harsh people, theyre just gona make me better =P

IE and Firefox reccomendation is better because IE6 doesnt support Transparent PNGs which i use alot. I could fix it but donthave IE6 to test it.. Any solutions ?

Tables doesnt matter here, its not bad, just loads differently thats all. I use DIVs but the CMS output has tables, so it cant be fully in tables anyway.

Ah, fixed the links, I dont type the code for that, so I didnt bother to check lol.

I am selling web design service but thats not the point in this thread =) dont start flaming, youre a mod so you should know better.
and yes, i do like dark colors. but i dont make everything black.

there's plenty of solutions. that's your role as a web designer to research and fix it. smile.gif

best solution? don't use PNG la.

btw look at the sentence in your notice. it says "Site is meant to be viewed using the latest Internet Explorer or Firefox." you didn't even specify the version! doh.gif it says IE. meaning people on IE6 will think that it's best viewed on IE.

and how does it look like on IE6? refer to the attachment (yes i'm doing you a favor).

anyway have a look at ALL other websites, tell me how many actually still use the statement you use? wouldn't need that statement if your site is following valid XHTML / CSS. like i said, it's so outdated, it's now 2008.

Web Standards are being practiced all over the globe, unfortunately it's still not widely practised in Malaysia.

i'm not against tables but it should be used sparingly.

tables for layout? they're ok but not as effective as using DIVS.

i'm not saying you're wrong to use tables as it has it's purpose but if it could be done with CSS, it'll be better.

not good for you my friend. you're selling a service, you must also show your own site properly done.

oh excuse me. who said i'm flaming? you wanted comments, i give you comments la. negative comments doesn't equate to flaming.

why would i want to spend my time to give you good feedbacks? smile.gif

btw i don't think my comment is harsh. smile.gif people at Hardware Q&A got harsh words from me before.

Added on January 6, 2008, 4:27 pmdjzen, you're probably the first person i ever gave such elaborate feedback (maybe becos i'm the only one giving so far. hehe)

maybe because i see you as fellow web designer, you look like you're new too.

i just hope that you don't turn out to be those "all about MONEY" type and don't give a shit about creating proper websites.

yeah thats the problem with IE6 , they dont display transparency.. =(
however i DID specify the versions of IE and Firefox =P I said "latest version" which is well, downloadable when you click the link.

Anyway, thanks alot =) youve been great help and a good critic =P

I found some ways to overcome the PNG problems, but they dont seem to work.. dont know why. My site needs PNG. Its the only way to keep that nice effect when you scroll. =P

Ill go check for CSS and XHTML problems. got some free time now biggrin.gif
Oh, Ive been using the computer since i was very young, so since I got access to the internet, I started to slowly learn how to do web design by intrest, so no professional training lol. Just a little bit of talent and passion.

26 human make error from ur site .... tongue.gif

1. Error Line 25, Column 115: required attribute "alt" not specified .

...excite_v3/images/hbg.png" border="0"/></a>

The attribute given above is required for an element that you've used, but you have omitted it. For instance, in most HTML and XHTML document types the "type" attribute is required on the "script" element and the "alt" attribute is required for the "img" element.

Typical values for type are type="text/css" for <style> and type="text/javascript" for <script>.

2. Error Line 34, Column 53: there is no attribute "bordercolor" .

...<table class="mainframe2"bordercolor="#111111" border="1px" cellpadding="10px

You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).

This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.

How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash.

3. Error Line 34, Column 122: there is no attribute "background" .

...ng="10px" cellspacing="0" background="/templates/zonexcite_v3/images/tbg.pn...

This might mean that you need a containing element, or possibly that you've forgotten to close a previous element.

One possible cause for this message is that you have attempted to put a block-level element (such as "<p>" or "<table>") inside an inline element (such as "<a>", "<span>", or "<font>").

I don't think goldfries is being harsh as he is just giving his comments, and you are asking others how they think about it. So it should be alright.

Since commenting is harsh to you then I try not to go too far. Just to suggest that you might want to make a new page with the name "Services" or something and describe the service you are offering there. Make your portfolio a real portfolio, meaning we will see your work there directly instead of your explanation of the service you are offering.

And by the way, I think it's not that cool with the "Site is meant to be viewed using the latest Internet Explorer or Firefox." sticking there.
