im using acer aspire 4710G and the screen suddenly turns white recently when i was trying to adjust the screen for better viewing purpose. Besides, it will automatically turn white after using it for hours. But last time i didn't faced this problem before even i on my laptop together with the cooling fan for several hours. Could anyone give me some advices or guide me some proper solutions in order to solve this problem??

what do u mean it turns white? as in glaring plain bright white?

not sure what settings u made that caused this, could u remember what u did and revert back to previous setting?

if not, best that u just reformat, i guess..

Guys thanks for replying...hm i'm sure i didn't make any chances about the display setting cuz tht white screen will mostly appear when trying to adjust tht screen...but i hv adjusted it slowly for about 90degree to get better view.

same as mine mine also 4710G it will turn blank white screen after few hour .not all the time. maybe 1 week 7 days it happen 2 times.... or maybe 1 time.


take back warranty already 2 times.... also same acer ppl say cannot check it out .,. nothing with my lappy

Scandal, are saying that u sent ur laptop to the service centre and they're saying that nothing is wrong with the laptop?

yeah .. already send 2 times ....
1st time they say nothing wrong with my lappy... take back not sampai 3 days the problem come again....
then i record the problem in video in pendrive on 2nd time take to centre.... they say nothing wrong with my lappy also after they check. at last they say change the invertor already when i take back....
but not yet 2 days the problem come again
now me also dunno how to say ...1 weeks maybe come blank white screen 1 time. some 2 times...
maybe i will wait more few month and wait it really serious baru take to warranty.. cos me still have 7 months more to warranty

Better claim the warranty as soon as possible. I got a HP laptop about the same problem. First time send in it get the same reply saying laptop everything is fine but of course I know is not. How can a normal screen just turn white like tat, after complain and email them a couple of times banging up and down, then finally they agree to change a new screen for me. After that, issue resolved. Good luck you man.

ok . just sent email to them at morning. afternoon the highpoint acer service centre call me and ask. after that he call me take back and warranty. i just take my acer AS 4710G to warranty. and i have already record the video of problem let them see and they say no need see. becouse he know the problem. then i ask him why he know? he say this 4710G model most have this problem and he say the mainboard problem. and wanna change it for me. i hope this time after take back no more problem again .

i aso have d same problem.recently it quite common.n nw i had to format my comp a few time in a week.so broi ur prob settle alrady?still lcd gone white?

actualy it's a known technical issue in 4710G.
you can try my plan as below.

i advise you to use window XP and see if th same things happens on your laptop.
2. update your ATI catalyst to the latest version.

i already use window xp on my lappy but after reformat the problem always occur after start my lappy.u have catalyst latest link.thx a lot

mine also use windows xp .. problem still there after 3 times go for warranty ( change Mainboard)

dannm download the latest ATI catalyst but cannot install .. do u know which one suitable for 4710G laptop ?? ATI Radeon HD 2300 ... pls give the link

i update my display driver for ATI Radeon HD 2300 .... hope can fecth the white screen problem
