zzz mine is hanging all over the place but not 3ROD-ing yet. early symptoms I believe.

not the drive right? as long as the drive can read the disc I don't think it's a problem.

well I'll stick to my word -- if it fails again, try and fix it again, if perma-3ROD then I'll wait until Jasper or Valhalla then get another machine.

hate playing Russian Roulette every time I boot up my machine.

It's already announce by MS. I forgot when but it's quite a long time back. Even the date should fall by this year. The best would be August because their holiday are in August so Best sales.

If i'm not mistaken, 1 of the MS employee said is launch by August.

Ms is dropping the price from July 17 onwards. So whether here affect or not I'm not sure.

About Rebailing, can't really be sure is a permanent solution because we had just only started to do it but it's the best of the best method to revive a 3rod console. Even those really dead can't revive with x-clamp can be revive using rebailing.

reballing= change new GPU with new and (better solder i think) as cliamed by tech2. Actually, if the solder is good enuf, the metling point is 212c, so as long as the core temperature is below that, it wont deform.

my replacement 3rod console got a 3rod again. error code 0020.
it was only replaced in May 07.

damn it. still got a warranty, but it's troublesome for me to go to sg.
