Mine still intermittent 3ROL 0102. When I get the 3ROL, I just leave it on, heat up the unit for like 5-10mins, then reboot.. walla, can play again. So far so good, it work all the time since last week. Playing and watching DiVX for 3-5hrs straight and no issues.

Anybody considering this? Sounds promising or just an advertising gimic?

Whisper Max achieves its unparalleled cooling achievements due to the following key factors:

*Nitro Mode - In the flick of a switch, the Whisper Max fan can run with up to 240% more power. Without a doubt, all users will experience very significant cooling using the Nitro mode. This mode is ideal for long gaming sessions. Moreover, those who wish to have a quieter experience for watching a movie or conducting other less intensive tasks can just switch back to the original mode. This will provide more than adequate cooling and greater noise reduction.

*Quality - The Whisper Max is a ball bearing fan providing a quieter and longer life. This construction provides advantages over sleeve bearing based fans which can potentially wear out sooner and become noisier as they age.

*Lighting - Not only will the Xbox 360 become physically much cooler with the Whisper Max, but will actually aesthetically look very cool too. When the Whisper Max installed, the user can select between blue, green or red lights or opt not to select any at all. Moreover, if all the mentioned colours are a bit too common, users could in future use just about any other LED including white, UV, orange or anything which captures their imagination.

Essentially, the Whisper Max is a direct replacement fan for the Xbox 360 which offers far superior (refer to internal CPU, GPU test graph) and reliable cooling with a touch of aesthetic class. The whole package includes everything you need (even includes 2 small heatsinks to help lower the overall temperature) and is fully compatible with the original Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Elite.

The Whisper Max is available to buy at a price of $24.99 from Whisper or Talismoon

Sorry if this is old, but I hope this helps since some people still don't know yet.

Three red lights on the Xbox 360 indicator, representing "general hardware failure", known by gamers as the infamous "Red Ring of Death.

The Nyko Intercooler has also been reported to have caused a general hardware failure in a number of consoles, as well as scorching of the power AC input. Microsoft stated that the peripheral drains too much power from the console and can cause the faults to occur, and stated that consoles fitted with the peripheral will have their warranty null and void. Furthermore, it has been stated that plugging the power cord to a surge protector further drains power from the processor and is otherwise unneccessary as the power converter has its own surge protector.

On July 5, 2007, the Vice-President of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division published an open letter recognizing the problem and announcing a 3 year warranty expansion for every Xbox 360 console that experiences the general hardware failure indicated by the three flashing red lights on the console. [10] There is also another sign of the hardware failure, one flashing red light. Error code E 74.

When a Microsoft Xbox 360 console experiences a "general hardware failure", three flashing red lights appear on the front of the console, known by gamers as the infamous "Red Ring of Death". Supposedly, when this problem started arising in early 2006, 30% to 33% of all Xbox 360s were experiencing the fault.

i talk to a 'expert' shop.. that only fixes console.. (all next gen)
of coz all i see in his shop was hacked 360 withs their motherboard lying around naked..
and i asked him about newer version of 360..
apparently he said new HDMI version (which i assume would be either falcon/elite) had no 3ROD problem..
i think his word holds some weight la..
as he dont sell any console.. juz a repair shop..

and i was quite shock actually that he told me..
he provide service to reattach back "NEW" warranty sticker..
so your hacked xbox360 will be eligible to be exchanged 1-to-1 in SG..

im not promoting piracy.. i juz sharing some news..

Whether you use extra fan or not you will in the end you will also get 3rod. Even if you try to mod your fan, you also will get ban by MS

So forget it. There is a risk by buying Xbox 360

Ya but you are also drawing a bit power out. But is better then nothing. If the electricity fluctuate, then it will blow up the fan like what happen to mine.
