try previous version of deluge. such as 0.5.7...and as the previous deluge thread, deluge cannot handle a very large torrent (>2gb) and torrent that have many files in it (i.e pc games iso with many rar files; r00, r01, r02 etc.)

0.5.8RC2 released

Main things are that this fixes the update notification from freezing or even crashing Deluge on some boxes (really sorry about this), and it allows you to pop sites out of the internal browser and into your system's default browser. Also you can select to never even see the browser icon. Full changelog here:
*Change add torrent to ctrl+n
*Change notification plugin to not show the file list, but only the torrent name
* Allow removal of browser icon from toolbar
* Add buttons to browser to launch the main and footer frames into an external browser
* Fix removing torrents from deluge template of webui - vonck7
* Set the advanced webui template as default
* Cut down significantly on the memory usage of the blocklist plugin
* Fix some UPnP bugs
* Fix "New version" alert from freezing sometimes
* Prioritizes local peers over non-local ones when finding connect

Hmm, only thing i can think of is trying older versions of deluge, i find the latest version (0.5.7.98) a bit screwy, im on Vista btw.
Try using deluge versions that doesnt give you the C++ error. This deluge got mood wan... sometimes c++ error like hell on any versions for me.. then after several reinstall attempts it works again.

Try again id say.. good luck

EDIT: sigh... speak of the devil, as i posted, deluge crashed again rclxms.gif reverting to previous version shakehead.gif

Nah, ive tried 10 dl / 20 ul running at the same time, for days, no crash. I think it has something to do with the # of files/pieces in a torrent, especially those huge 4gb+ files... It always crashes with big files. Nowadays i use the web interface instead and leave deluge running in the background.. seems to be more stable
