Warning: Imitation copies of Focal speakers are being sold over the internet and in some discount stores in Australia. Some look convincingly like the real thing, and the vendors vow and promise that these are genuine Focal speakers which come from the Focal factory. Do not buy Focal products on the internet. For example, the 165V1 currently advertised in Hong Kong on eBay for about $100 are definitely fakes. We have tested and photographed a set, and we will post the photos and information on this site in the next few days.

Even if you find a genuine set somewhere you will have no warranty because warranty does not apply to speakers trans-shipped between countries. Australian dealers are listed on the Focal Dealers page. They have been trained to provide advice and installation skills to support our products. Buy genuine, buy from an Australian dealer and get what you pay for.

i can only able to see almost 95% close to be original look out. This imitations way too smart till hard to detect whether is it original or fake.

Sometimes its hard to differentiate the fake & real unless u spend a good amt of time observing the both. Otherwise get from authorize dealers! If the price is too good to be true, it normally is. And u pay peanuts u get monkeys.

brother, i think its a fake one..

chk the box design and compared to the original one.

The "focal" logo in original box is in solid white color, the logo in the later box u posted is design with a "gradient" effect.

Recently i wanted to upgrade my car's ICE and just bought a set of component speakers from lelong. Haven't receive them yet. But only now i realize there're so many fake speakers selling around Malaysia. So sad.

After doing some googling, i found these websites:

current famous fake speakers and tweeters are PIONEER.

I believe Soundstream subwoofer cost only rm 350 for 12". Cause previously i was selling it at that price while auto shop selling around rm 7xx (mark up price)

Its not really an imitation because they call it MiX instead of MTX (because of the dots) . Just the logo looks almost the same.

One time an acc shop see my MTX 6x3, they say its fake and theirs is ori. Look at their speaker, OMG its MiX. Maybe they also being conned by supplier

Not only the focals, but also the Soundstream, RF, and many other brands in the automotive garage.

Go to Authorized Dealer, not some Ah Seng shop. Even shops sells this similar products. You must know where you go. Do surveys on the net. A lot of infos about identifying authenticity of the products.
