Hi, I'm thinking of taking a degree in IT at HELP. Anyone here taking the course? How is the quality? And overall, how is HELP's environment and management? Thanks in advance.

I graduated from HELP (IT degree) and I think it sucked BUT since that was quite a while ago, I suggest you check them out first. don't forget to check out others.

FYI I also worked there before and I don't think IT is their strong point. biggrin.gif

goldfries: Was that their internal degree or the 3+0 with Charles Sturt University? Also, how can I tell if their degree has improved by checking them out? I'm clueless sorry. sweat.gif

that was 3+0 with CSU.

aih last time I also blur la. when I was in college, everywhere else offers 3+1. HELP offered 3+0 so I take la. IT course, I like computer stuff. Ok la fine.

After graduate - it was like shit....... compare with programmers from APIIT - you're nothing. compare with designers from LUCT / TOA, you're nothing also. compare to people who take networking course from CISCO / MS - you're nothing too! It was like they teach you a bit of everything but almost nothing deep enough. sad.gif Well, at least it was like that for my major (Multimedia) but as for the rest. like BIS or CS, i think they're better off la.

Lucky for me I wasn't the type that play games all day la. I did my own studies during free time. biggrin.gif That saved my ass really.

Is the A Levels in Help better than Taylors? I know it depends on the individual.. but based on experience, anyone? =)

Hai, I'm teaching there so perhaps can give u some hindsight....the A Level in HELP is different than in Taylors. Taylors A Level is using the Cambridge A Level Syllabus while we are using the Edexcel A Level. From experience, Cambridge Level of examination is more difficult as the thing you learn there is more. That's for Econs I am not much sure of the others. Perhaps you can check up

Oh okay. I dont mean to be rude or anything.. but in terms of applying for universities in UK in the future.. does Cambridge ALevels or Edexcel stand a higher chance? or there's no difference? I'm actually considering Help because I'm tempted with the edexcel system. Haha. and yeah, I'm also worried about the cambridge standard

On comparing the branding of the colleges, I would say Help has the biggest brand, although I don't have first hand impression of the quality of each of them.

Hope this helps.

Hey I'm also planning to do a psychology in HELP! But I dunno which route to take. The ADTP or the normal foundation -> degree route? Both take around the same time. The thing here is credibility...

Heard that Msia slower 20 years in psy than UK, UK slower than US 20 years.

Any advices?

from wat i heard.. things that we study in HELP and overseas are the same.. the only different is the quality of lecturer( more experiences?) and the exposure.. u learn about other country's culture which you cant learn in Msia. IMO, HELP lecturers for psychology are just great. Dr Goh really rocks.. got his lecture in psychology competition that i have participated =)

Quote from the current HELP psychology student " If you have to starve yourself to go abroad, it is not worth " thats wat she said to me

Cheers
