jst launched early this month...
i find it more realistic than last year....the only non-improvement would be the football match display.. other than that, the simulation is very real...i know most of you guys are a fan of football manager 2008, but no harm trying this one also..i think it's rather addictive... more info, you can find here :- http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sports/fifamana...=result;title;0 |

one of the review
QUOTE LEIPZIG, Germany--As far as many football management aficionados are concerned, there's only one game on the market, and that's the aptly named Football Manager. However, there are a lot of fans out there who find the sheer depth of Sports Interactive's series slightly daunting, which is likely why EA Sports has continued to release its own take on the genre. Offering an inviting interface and the polish we've come to expect from EA Sports games, the last game in the series was an excellent starting point for those who fancy the football manager lifestyle. We caught up with the developer of this year's game to find out what it is hoping to add to the experience. First of all, the interface itself has been given a visual overhaul and now supports resolutions up to 2,280 x 2,024 pixels. The update also follows the rule of thumb that more is better, so there are some leagues appearing in the game for the first time, including Australia, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. The designers have certainly been kept busy updating the core game because they've added 2,000 more official player images, as well as new competitions that include the Under 20s and Confederation Cups. They've also added 200 new objects for your stadiums. One of the nicest touches we saw in FIFA Manager 08 was the localised newspaper updates, which came from best-selling British tabloid The Sun during the matches we saw playing as Liverpool. Likewise, if you're playing as France, the updates come from acclaimed football paper L'Equipe, and other countries promise a similar level of authenticity. The developer insists that it's important to keep abreast of the media's response to your management of the club because it will affect the morale of the team in general. This played a large part of the previous game; taking care of individual and overall motivation is an important part of the job. You'll have to constantly juggle the demands of your players, as well as making sure the board is satisfied. Scouts will also play a much larger part in the game than before. You'll need to keep a constant eye on the youth team and transfer market to manage a successful club. Although it remains an accessible management game to get into, the general attention to detail in FIFA Manager 08 is looking very impressive so far. Being able to place Liverpool's training ground in a small English seaside town called Filey was a nicely realistic touch. On a more practical note, the ability to see x-rays of each player's feet and adapt their training routine to avoid injury was also a useful tool. The main simulation mode in FIFA Manager 08 will again last 20 years, and as before, you will be able to see all matches replicated in 3D. The match engine itself hasn't been updated this year because that particular overhaul is being held over until next year's game. In the meantime, the game has been updated with all-new textures, and we noticed that players seemed to move in a more sprightly fashion than they did previously. |

It's a really good game, and I'm a Football Manager fan. I've tried it out and it's addictive. The cinematic view is awesome. You can upgrade your stadium which is really cool. But the firing in this game is ridiculous. If your target is 4th place and you end up at 6th, you get fired wtf?! But overall its a really cool game. Should try it out

hehe same like be la..been a fan since 2006 and it's really a major improvement for 2008, at least more realistic.
i played MU the first season. Major change in midfielder and defenders. because there is no team chemistry, i ended up 15th in EPL by end of season. lucky i play "cannot sack". well second season better alridi. the passing more accurate and the style more offensive. ended up 4th place.... and for player transfer, even harder than last season... so far can only see the good points... |

i'm assuming you are referring to real match display in 3D. usually this thing happens because of the VGA card quality. probably you can try to lower down the resolution.
the display on 3D are rather intensive you know. |

you go to individual orders. some you can choose to man-marking to certain strikers.
also you can choose to be very-defensive or defensive or normal formation. so most of your players mindset will be set to be very defensive, even though u r playing 3-4-1-2 formation for example. besides that, you can select individual player to choose if he should do just dribbling/holding/free role, etc etc from the menu la before/during the game. so far i'm playing RM. play 4-3-1-2 and choose offensive formation. nearly 1/2 season gone and i've already scored more than 50 goals. of course i conceded around 15 goals also la. take and give loh. |

haish.. can't wait for the official update.
current one got bugs. although just notice one, but it does effect the gameplay. i'm playing the lower league, (conference south). the problem is your player can get away with red card. he can play continously for the rest of the season even got so many cards during the game. btw, the new 3d engine more realistic compared to previous version. |

I heard my friend said that the game is realistic, until you actually can marry and get kids, property in the game.

I played Fifa Manager since 04 and changed to Football Manager this year because the 3D engine sometime makes me wanna slam the table(I am referring to Fifa M07) sometime those AI really did wrong thing on the situation.
