Hi,

勝香園 is open from 08:00 until 17:30 only, so i think impossible to eat there for your dinner. I suggest that you exchange the time between 勝香園 and 沾仔记. During my trip, I missed out 勝香園 but I able to have my dinner at 沾仔记, reached there just 10mins before they closed, so lucky...their三拼麵 and wantan mee so so so delicious!!!! My blog post haven't finish yet, if not from my photo you can see their wantan was so big and fully made of prawn~yummy! No wonder 沾仔记 was recommended as 米芝蓮精選食肆....

Regards,

H1N1 is not only in HK but also in malaysia-lah..just go saja-lah if booked..unless u willing to forfeit the tickets...everywhere u go also having risk..no risk no gain!

Wah July will be super Hot in HK-loh..hot summer...

Dear all, really sorry for my late reply 'coz I will be extremely busy in the near future... sweat.gif

am going to book the '' yao ma tei'' bridal tea house hotel, bcos they wrote there is very near to MRT.is that true??
anyone stay there b4? pls comment
*

It should be MTR not MRT.

If the Bridal Tea House is the one located in Yau Ma Tei, then it's close to the Yau Ma Tei MTR station. The one located in Tai Kok Tsui will be farther from MTR with 10-15mins walk.

QUOTE(snow.Flakes @ Jun 16 2009, 10:10 PM)
Just came back from HK this evening. Arrive KLIA at 435pm. So darn tired. You must have enough stamina to walk in HK if you are taking public transport and their public transport is very efficient!

I started to miss HK already. )=
Will post up my complete trip in my bloggie to share later on!
*

Welcome back~ Yep, almost every forumer would comment about the tired feet & legs after HK trip, haha... you guys use to go point to point by car ma.. not like us, we need to walk everyday...

QUOTE(Adelaide @ Jun 16 2009, 10:45 PM)
Hi guys...
going to HK 26th this month...

Targeted Nathan Hotel and Empire Hotel Kowloon... mind to share which 1 u guys would recommend? Which 1 is more strategic in terms of food ... and shopping... please list out...

Any recommended hotel in Macau also?

Thanks ppl.
*

Both are not too far away from MTR station. But if you like shopping, I think Empire Hotel at Tsim Sha Tsui would be more convenient for shopping. For food, really don't worry about it, no matter where you stay, you still can eat nice food 'coz there are nice restaurants in everywhere here!

QUOTE(joycelsq @ Jun 17 2009, 10:14 AM)
hi guys, i booked CityView Hotel at Yau Ma Tei? Is this good? tongue.gif
*

Yes, it's nice and with strategic location. Booked the new room if possible, they are nicer.

QUOTE(david_kiat @ Jun 17 2009, 07:03 PM)
At the Ocean Park, Should we start from Low land(Main Entrance) or Head land(Tai Shue Wan Entrance) ?
Which side has more interesting attractions ?
*

It depends... If I am not wrong, thrill rides are at the high land, while the museum/aquarium/dolphin show are at the low land.

QUOTE(Anyla @ Jun 18 2009, 02:14 PM)

thanks D tourist for ur info rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

It should be MTR not MRT.

Metropark Kowloon is not far from the Prince Edward MTR station, quite convenient~

hey, i'm going on 27 June. but i kinda worry about the h1n1, don't u ?

Added on June 18, 2009, 10:30 pm

ohh...is there any outbreak on h1n1 ?? >< i'm actually worrying on my hk trip t 27 jun ><
*

Really don't know why you guys so worry about the H1N1 while you also have H1N1 cases in M'sia..... H1N1 is not fatal and I can say we are expert in controlling virus spreading after SARS. As long as you manage good hygiene on YOURSELVES, chances to get infected is very slim.

QUOTE(snow.Flakes @ Jun 18 2009, 11:33 PM)
Er schools in HK are closed for 2weeks and they announced H1N1 as level 6 pandemic.
There are 5 of us, me, bro, sis and parents and we didn't really wear mask all the time there. Don't worry, HK government is very alert with H1N1 and i'm back in Msia, this is already the third day and nothing much happened.

Don't worry too much and enjoy your trip. They have already started their summer sales and i guarantee you will shop till you drop! Remember to bring more cash! If you are still worry, bring along mask and wear it all the time. (=
*

Not all schools are closed la... only the kindergarten & primary schools and infected secondary schools are closed. The level 6 pandemic was announced by WHO not HK gov't, so it applies on the whole world. Actually really don't need to worry la.. I live here everyday but I don't worry about it at all, haha~ Just wash hand more frequent then it'd ok~ smile.gif

Thanks for sharing~

QUOTE(snow.Flakes @ Jun 20 2009, 06:24 PM)
Yea! Same goes to us.
We only spend the last day for shopping! Really not enough time, so we plan to visit HK again and spare lots of money just for shopping since we covered mostly all of the tourist spot.

Summer sales already on and the things are really cheap there especially apparel!
Awww i love HK so so much!
*

Really true that one should spare about 2-3 days just for shopping if visit here during the summer sale. The summer sale will be crazier in August and September! Plan your next trip earlier la~ icon_idea.gif

But is the H1N1 affecting the tourism economy?  In dilemma...

Not affecting at all.

QUOTE(trdcelica @ Jun 21 2009, 01:37 PM)

Actually even those non-famous noodles restaurants also sell big wanton with many shrimps inside! Even those selling price only HKD11 also got 3 big wantons with shrimps~ biggrin.gif~

Wah July will be super Hot in HK-loh..hot summer...
*

yes loh.. really can't understand why they are so scared about the H1N1...... caught it or not depends on your luck only ma... I go to Malaysia also afraid of Dengue Fever la...

I can tell those are going to visit HK in summer, you should worry about the TYPHOON more than H1N1 'coz TYPHOON's impact on your trip will be more direct!! If there is typhoon attack, your flight is cancelled, your trip is gotta be postponed for 1-2 days or you will be stranded in HK for 1-2 days, or if you're in HK and the typhoon comes, all shops are closed and you can't do anything here and waste valuable time of your trip!! So you think la, which one you should worry more?

No need to wait until July, it's super hot on these days already!!!

Hi mushkins~ thanks for your comments! If visiting HK during winter, the walk is alright, but if it's during mid-summer, it's quite tiring with the heat and polluted air & crowds... So advise to those coming during July-Sep, better choose a hotel which is close to MTR station~

A typhoon has been formed in South China sea, it's possible to affect HK a few days later, those will visit HK around this weekends should check weather forecast before departure. Cheers~!

winniethepooh : I just came back from HK 2 days ago, location of Empire hotel is great, near to MRT. Within walking distance to Star Avenue, even can walk to Temple Street. Room is clean and tidy, abit small though. Happy with the price I paid for it (Upgraded to Exec floor) hehehe.

I would say HK is not very much affected by H1N1...

Sales is on.... Citygate is a good place to go, a place you must visit if you are going to Disneyland or Ngong Ping 360/ Dai Yu San.

Added on July 1, 2009, 11:53 amvolodstov : If you are not a gamble kaki... then try to stay near to Taipa (Tam Zai)... lots of GOOD Food and attraction, near to Venetian Hotel...

We used about RM10k for accommodation and food, not included flight tic (which cost us +- RM3k) for the whole 7D6N trip to HK last 2weeks.
I think should be enough but, bring more in case there is any emergency because the exchange rate there is quite high compare to Msia.

You can check out my blog where we've been during this 7D6N.
http://eternity-infinity.blogspot.com/ and it will be under June 2009 archive.

just back from HK trip on 25th June
everything was fine there..i think the H1n1 there is really much more controlable if compare with Malaysia.
they are pretty strict since the SARS experiences.
Summer and sunny day most of all, even sum days are bit rains...but air overthere and environment is clean enough.
i say this is because i walk whole day and back to hotel for bath, nose shit is clean and not as dirty like when i'm in Malaysia.
the bad thing there i think is their hk people personality which is quite "yin sat", duno how to say in eng..

that's it..to those who gonna travel to HK...enjoy ya trip..
