This is merely a guide i compiled from all the info i found across the web. I'm not the original author for any of the intellectual work. Give credits to the author whenever you could. In fact, you should always do so. But those who still want to thank me for making this guide, you're welcome
Please read & re-read any instructions included in any tutorials (the README file is there for a reason) before posting any unnecessary questions. Please play & re-play any video tutorial before asking. I've made this to be as simple as possible. And most importantly, do this AT YOUR OWN RISK and enjoy! 1. Jailbreak - Jailbreak 1.1.1 > Head to jailbreakme.com on your Safari browser > Tap on Install AppSnap > If successful, your iPod would now have a InstallerApp on the home screen > Here's a video tutorial for it - Jailbreak 1.1.2 > Prerequisite: A jailbroken 1.1.1 > To downgrade a 1.1.2 refer here > To jailbreak a 1.1.2 refer here - Jailbreak 1.1.3 & 1.1.4 > Get the latest ZiPhone > Tutorial? Go here > Another tutorial can be found here ** Contributed by Mike3300 ** 2. Applications - To install an application: > Tap on the Installer app icon on your home screen > At the bottom of your screen, tap on the Install tab. All the applications are listed here. > Simply browse to desired application, tap on the Install button located on the top right corner of your screen - To update an application: > Should there is an update for an application that is already installed in your iPod, it will appear under the Update tab > Tap on an update, and simply hit the Update button, also located on the top right of your screen - To delete an installed application: > Tap the Uninstall tab at the bottom of your Installer app screen > Applications that are installed in your iPod is listed here > Tap on any of application you want to get rid of your iPod, and tap on the Uninstall button at your-know-where-already - To add/delete a source: > Tap on the Edit button located at the top right corner > Notice that the Refresh button at the top left corner has now changed to the Add button > Yes, obviously, tap on the Add button > Type in the repository address and tap OK > Similarly, to delete a source, after tapping the Edit button, a red icon beside each source name would appear > Tap on that lil red icon, and a Delete button would appear. Tap on the Delete button. - Enabling the Wiggly icons & Web Clip (a.k.a January Update) features: > Prerequisite: A jailbroken 1.1.3 or higher > Go to your Installer app, add this source http://ipodtouchmaster.com/files/repo.xml > Under the category iPhone 1.1.3 Apps, install the package NOTE: I've taken out several sections that were previously here. I'll make a new guide for Summerboard and Customize if there is a request (or when i have time) for it. This post has been edited by zc_squash: Mar 28 2008, 02:25 AM |

Mac users can now follow the guide above. All the jaibreakers are now either automated, designed for cross-platform or OTA.

Two thumbs up for your efforts! Definitely interested to mod my Touch when I get it and I'll jump to this thread.
On a side note have you done all this jailbreaking under Windows XP? I am on Windows Vista and my music collection is on this system. Was wondering if: 1. Jailbreaking success on Vista? So far I have read its quite iffy 2. Whether I can jailbreak on XP then jump back to Vista for normal things e.g updating songs. Thanks in advance. |

1. Forget Vista. I still use XP to flash my phone , etc. Dont trust that crappy Vista. The next thing might do on you is give you a dialogue box saying that 'ey , YOU ARE CRACKING SOMETHING...Please beware that we will call PDRM for you. Thank you'
2. Yes ...Do it on XP...then use Vista for normal things |

LOL i might be a bit biased but the whole reason i got mine jailbroken is for the Springboard! Anyway to answer your question, i jailbroke mine in Vista with touchFree and it didn't give me any trouble. If you are still worried, do the things you said on #2. That's still fine. Good luck! |

Hey guys,
I found a one-click Automatic iPod Touch JailBreaker but I don't know where to post so I'm gonna add in here. Sorry if I jacked your thread. Step 1 The usual crashing of Safari browser via TIF exploit. Point your browser to http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com Step 2 Go to this website http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1954 Download the Automatic iPod Touch Jailbreaker. Unzip it and execute the Jailbreak.bat batch file and follow the on-screen instructions. I suggest you register yourself with that Forum and check out the comments and issues encountered. Also there's a YouTube video instruction here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuVUmmNG_HA If it works for you, please thank the original author and put this into the 'main instructions'. Thank you once again and good luck! |

Hey there, no worries. Not a problem posting your findings here. Glad that you did, actually. But i've actually already posted that up. It's the same as the Basher's iPod fix.
Anyway, i updated post #1 item #5 and i realized that the site don't handle .png images quite well. It gave black background to the images i uploaded. So i couldn't share more Custom carrier icons with you guys because their text is in black. And giving them a black background meaning you'll see nothing at all because these icons have a transparent background. Anyone knows how we could overcome this, eh? Should have verified it first. I was streaming videos from YouTube and I found this method which I was comfortable and I thought I should share. Looks like its a duplicate. By the way, I have done all the mods and have installed some iPhone softwares then I realized my iTunes isn't detecting my iPod Touch anymore. Did I do something wrong and should I start from scratch? Thanks |
