I got the card from Akabane last weekend. I must say I am impressed with it. Sound quality improved a lot compared to my old SoundBlaster Live! Value.

128 is a very low quality mp3 if you want to use mp3 as a source, then use it at 320 bit

Hey Guys, I had this card for almost 3 weeks now...been listening and testing the settings for the best possible quality.

No doubt, this card is really superb in playback quality rclxms.gif . Like I said in my previous post, I seldom had that much pleasure listening to music on a PC compared to normal Audio equipment, so having this card finally allows me the sheer joy of rediscovering all my music collection again.

Anyway, what is the experience you guys had with this card? I swap my OPAMPS to National Semiconductor's LME 49720NA (after reading yuheng's experiences swapping them on his zhaolu smile.gif ) on all three sockets and did get better sound - clearer highs, more body to the mids and tighter bass.

At the same time, I was curious about a setting in the Control Panel for the Card under the Advanced section - Sampling Rate Optimization. There was no documentation at all in the manual so I googled it up. The only explanation I found was in the Korean manual for the card which roughly means : Setting this will allow QSound to automatically sample the data correctly??....But anyway, I thought...since I don't use the Qsound functions, I manually uncheck the setting (it always load automatically) and select the Enable High Frequency setting ... listen to playback again...

Audio quality seems to have improved even more! Especially on instrumentals...ie...you can hear the whack of the pedal on the bass drums, the sliding of the violin bow and the sound coming from the violin body, the hint of resin as the string slide, the ambience of the studio....actually that much more resolution to the detail, more presence and wider soundstage....

Hmmm...I wonder....definitely High Definition audio..... drool.gif

Urm...anyway, how about starting a new thread to talk about our experiences with this card? thumbup.gif ...

I've told this here:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/287056/+20

The opamp that come with the standard HD2 is NE5532, all three of them. On the HD2 Gold, try to Google around. I found it uses one JRC 5532D plus two OPA2134

http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=44503

Further checking, I see the normal one is named "Special" on their Korean sites, while the JRC +OPA one is named "Gold"
