rclxms.gif Hi...Just wanna say that I also have this card. Its a 2 channel stereo card. Sound quality is pretty good out of th box, far better than the Prodigy 7.1LT which I had earlier.

Had this for about a week now and have been playing all kind of music just to evaluate...

It's been a long time since I can listen to music on a PC and this card comes very very close to what I hear from a MAC G5 with a Blackmagic Design Link card. There are details in the music that I can hear. Used to be hidden. And what's important for me is that the pitch of the music is closer to what I can hear....

Details are clear though I am waiting for the National Semiconductors LME49720NA to swap the Fairchild NE5532 OpAmps. Personally, I didn't like the sound coming from the NE5532. So waiting to swap the OPAMPs..

(Note: The card I had is from Europe. The version from Korea is shipped with different OPAMPs tho....OPA2134 + JRC5532. The European version uses 3 Fairchild NE5532 Opamps. Lastly, the Korean card uses standard VIA drivers..)

As far as music is concerned it is really a first class card and I never regret getting this card. I run a Post-Production facility and am happy that this card helps alot in my sound mix.

Straight out of the box, its clear and musical, for most people ...and you can modded it to get even better sound to your tastes! Hahaha...no...I'm not a customer...just glad that this card is now within reach fro most people... icon_rolleyes.gif

And the Price is really, really worth it....RM390 is a steal. whistling.gif

Any reviews?
@yuheng,
tried it before? Impressions? PM me.

Yuheng, arsoo and myself has been tested last week. this card is really impress me if conpare with prodigy 7.1 hifi with Aego M. This HD2 more bright, warm soundstage wider. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Overall HD2 Reference card is a cheaper version for pairing Aego M. I can say this card is potential than Juli CARD. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

what type of speaker you should pair with this sound card except aego m?

what does the word "reference" means in the product name?

this card only support 2.0 not 2.1?

any bundled software?

sorry if I ask too much question smile.gif

I don't know if I can tumpang to talk about this card's features icon_rolleyes.gif but thought I give a feedback on my experiment swapping the stock OPAMPS with the LME49720NA. sweat.gif

Details are clearer, much more warmer sound signature...and on classical music, the strings sound so much more like real instruments and the cymbals clash have a ringing metallic sound...overall the sound signature is really seductive...perhaps after burning in the sound may be better..?????

Yuheng, arsoo, Akabane@DrJackel....what do you think guys? Any thoughts on this?

Thanks....

Not only classical music, but pop, jazz, rock. But since I work with a real orchestra at the Philharmonic Hall KLCC...I can hear what a real orchestra or instrument sound like, their timbre, dynamics, etc....so I tested more often with classical music. But anyway, it is a a matter of preference. You may pretty much like the colorful sound from the stock OPAMP..

You will definitely HEAR a big difference with any other other card. brows.gif

This card is really REFERENCE out of the box, so just plugin n enjoy the great sound with a great speaker like Aego M thumbup.gif (BTW, I used a pair of Alesis M1 MK II to audition the card....blush.gif ...I normally hooked it up to an Altec Lansing 621)... thumbup.gif
