The light effects are for the missed calls and unread SMS/MMS. However they only blink like once every 2 minutes or so.

If you say yours is always breathing I reckon it's probably because of your FM radio. It's probably the last time you used the radio function and then you unplugged the headset without turning off the radio itself first.

owhh really? coz, i read a topic bout the light effect on 5610XM in a forum, they said that it always blink.

when u received a missed call or unread SMS, then only it will stop blinking.

That one I am not sure. Mine only blinks when there's missed calls and unread messages.

The breathing light effect only works when I am playing the radio or the music player. Have you check your radio whether it's on or not?

yup. i've checked it. it still breath although the radio is switched off.

I am using firmware V09.40

The new firmware upgrade is area dependent as in where did the phone came from.

guys, i've got a problem here. my friend has a 5610 which has not been used for a long time, and it has a security code on it. the phone is previously used by his sister, and she already forgotten the code. even i try to flash the firmware using NSU, it cant load coz the pc suite option needs to be selected on the phone before updating it. but i cant unlock now with the security code on. any way to solve it?

Well technically, if the user didn't meddle with the security code of the phone it should be in it's default with is 12345 if I've not mistaken. You can ask your friend to check on the user's manual.

I assume that the phone is under phone lock?

probably the user changed it, coz my friend tried 12345, but didn't work.
is there no master reset for the security code? or a master code?

Wow, that's some big trouble though. I think the only way your friend can get it unfixed is at the Nokia Care Centers. There's no such thing as "Hard Reformat" for Series 40 phones.

Maybe can try doing the firmware flashing by yourself because normally if the phone is connected and there's a firmware upgrade you can just do it somehow...

i guess i have to resort to going to the Nokia Care Center. i tried to connect it to the pc, it needs to get select what mode to connect to, which is pc suite or mass storage. to get to that i stll need to get through the security code at the keypad lock.

When using the NSU it prompts you to select??

Just be prepared to be charged an amount of RM60 to flash the firmware.

just spend rm120 to change my 5610 ribbon... had to go back twice bcoz the 1st time ribbon was faulty... solved my lcd problem but then my keypad didn't respond except the red key... yesterday the shop change a new ribbon in front of me...
wanna ask u guys... did ur 5610 hang or became slow if ur inbox got like 2000++ msgs? 5610 did happened n when i tried to delete... it will hang on the 42nd msg deleted... huhu...

I am having a Blue unit. Actually I ordered with the shop for my handset because they said that time they only have red in stock. Blue have to order.



I don't know why my phone hangs sometimes even in standby mode. For me deleting messages are OK it doesn't hangs.

BTW about the firmware update it's dependent on the origins of the phone. On my NSU my phone is still updated with the V09.41

BTW.. I jst finished updating my firmware. But now, when I wanna send sms in chinese, the input is not there. Just tamil and english. But for the phone language, chinese is there.

After that, I've used NSS to change the product code to SG which can enable chinese input. Then i started to use the NSU again, but it says " the phone is up to date"

I was hoping that it would change the firmware.
How to solve it?

used before.. is quiet nice phone.. but just a big lag when u do it.. i think probably nokia phone is like this.. like s60 more lag on it

I still haven't gotten the V10.00 firmware for my phone. Every time I plug my phone in it tells me firmware: V09.40 up-to-date.

i wonder the 5610 will upgrade firmware again ?

i've some problems with my 5610 recently.
it keep hanging
i have like 58xx msges in my inbox.
and the phone tends to hang when i delete the msges.
i have to take out the batt and get eh phone on again.
sometimes it works but sometime it doesnt.
it hangs at setting date and time.
what can i do about it?
anybody help please?

you got few k msg inside sure the phone hang la , the phone memory so low , what you expact it ?
