hmm.. it seems that the performance almost double 1.96, its very close to 2.0 for dual core

mine is onli 3.49 over 4 for quad core.. perhaps becoz the 2 pairs of cores have to communicate over the FSB

the reason for your slow speedup is you are using Pentuim D (2 die in a processor packaging where interdie communicate through the FSB)

i don;t think GPU is an issue here, cinebench are more cpu/memory/NB intensive

high shading probably due to OC GPU? or drivers.

the ideal speedup factor is near to 2.0 for dual core and near to 4.0 for quadcores (at least in theory), cache trashing is probably the cause(?) of lower speedup factor. or maybe some other cumulative factors. but it seems that AMD X2 are more nearer to the ideal 2.0(more efficient intercore communication) compared to core2duo based on the results gathered here so far.

i didn't OC my VGA at all, running @ default speed,
i guess is the latest driver cause it ... ? unsure.gif

ya,
i remember last time when i used X2 939,
the CPU speedup is 1.9x,
now using C2D only able to get 1.8x... doh.gif

AMD tech still the best i guess ? rolleyes.gif

i don't think u can, i can't any options either, i think what DaRkSyThE referring to is the screen capture resolution/desktop resolution, cinebench will still render in 800x600 window

Looking at the scores, it seems that for core2 duo the score figure is almost the same as the clock speed, it behaves linearly. So from there you can derive a comparison of performance how many GHz of single core you need in order to beat the quad in terms of multiple rendering. Almost Impossible I would say.
