I'm using F5D7632ak4A too, my BT speed and HTTP download can hit atleast 80kb to 189kb max for Streamyx 1mb package depending on torrents or seeds.  For obtaining the max speed of BT, u need to fine tune some settings.

1. TCPIP.sys www.lvllord.de (set it to 100)
2. configure port forwading in BELKIN www.portforward.com
4. confirgure your BT client. I'm using BitComet 0.70 as it is more stable, other torrent client doesn't work for me
5. check your up/down stream in the router page, make sure your line is 2048/512 (1mb package) or 1024/256 (512kb package) disconnect the phoneline from socket and refresh the page
6. Most importantly ..... SEEDS smile.gif

Perhaps i can print screen my Belkin and BitComet settings to you, just pm me your email.

Hi blackbox,

How do u check if your line is 2048/512 (1mb package) or 1024/256 (512kb package)?
I am unable to find it. How about a snap shot.

*Edit:
Found the feature on the status page that is the first page.

The firewall causes a lot of trouble. If you can do without it(most of us don't need it), disable it.

The fast connecting/disconnecting of BT causes the firewall to treat it as an attack and block it. wink.gif

How to u disable the route firewall?
I can not find the command to do it. icon_question.gif
Do we need the route firewall as most of us would have the window firewall up.

*Edit:
After I posted I saw the feature in the snapshot. doh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

YES. Your router firewall is your first defense before your Windows firewall as the second defense. In fact, router firewall has the best firewalling solution.

I bought a Belkin router too lastime and it sucks...
At first running quite good but wireless signal always drop...
After 2 years, frequent hang cos of the heat... i need to have a fan to cool it to avoid the hang problem... fed up with it at last and bought a Dlink DIR-300... Swear never buy another Belkin... even my 6 years old SMC router without wireless is working like charm 24/7.

hey all, does disabling built-in firewall help to resolve the router frequent-hang issues?

Any better way to conserve the router to tackle over-heating issue? A desktop fan ftw? ZZZ...

hi bro jackhorace, where did u manage to get this firmware? im currently using firmware 7.0.0.25 which originally came with the router. checking on belkin website only shows 7.0.0.20 as the latest.

Added on August 6, 2008, 9:55 amI've had tried the new firmware posted by bro jackhorace but still doesn't solve my problem

BTW, my problem is this...occasionally when i power on the router, either the PPoA doesn't work (globe LED doesn't lit) or the wireless doesn't work(wireless LED lit, but SSID cannot be detected), and i need to switch off/on the router to make it work..sometimes, 2 or 3 times needed...however, the ADSL LED lights up everytime, meaning tht it's physically connected to streamyx.
once it started OK, then there's no issue with hanging or disconnection..

anyone face the same problem?

my belkin wireless router modem hang once... used something to lift it a bit for air circulation (felt that the bottom was really hot) and it's never hung on me ever since.

Basically, all the lights on the router seem to indicate it is working.

However, I cannot reach the configuration pages, by using router's IP address 192.168.2.1.
I have tried resetting the router, and restarting the desktop.

I also tried connecting from a laptop - it picked up the signal, but again no respose on this IP address. the internet LED is not lighting (the globe) - and thus any web based app doesn't work - no connection in short.

The problem is solved.

Wasted a lot of time....
Belkin telephone services the ppl also quite blur.. They are overseas ppl. Other country don't have this model.

To solve, just update the firmware.

http://www.mediafire.com/?jdddhuv5dms

The firmware is only for V7.00 Router!!

When you say you reset the router, did you "hard reset" or "soft reset" it? A soft reset is just like restarting it, a hard reset will put it back to factory settings. To do a hard reset, make sure your router's power is in, then use a paperclip (or something) to press (and hold) the reset button at the back of the router. Keep holding it until you see the lights flicker and change quite a bit, then let go. Give it a while, then it should be back at it's factory default.

Are you getting an IP from the router btw? you can check your IP by right clicking your network icon and hit "status", it should be under "support" or something, also note your gateway ip, which should be "192.168.2.1", unless you changed something.

If your ip settings are correct, but you still can't access the router's config pages, I'd suggest you send in your unit for warranty. I'd suggest you try using another computer to access it first before you send it for warranty, just to make sure, and save yourself some time smile.gif

Cheers,
Kinson

We'll need quite a bit more details from you smile.gif

When you say "setting", does that mean you haven't configured ANYTHING into the router yet? Meaning have you put your streamyx username and password etc into the router? Have you set your wireless SSID (name) in the router yet? And did you set a WEP/WPA password for your WiFi network? If you did, which type of encryption are you using (e.g. WEP, WPA, WPA2 etc).

Will try to help out once I know more information.

Cheers,
Kinson

hi bro, u need to connect to the wireless first, by default the wireless comes with a SSID(belkin54g if not mistaken) with no passwords, you will need to connect to the wireless manually using your wireless wizard on your laptop.
if still can't, try to connect using wired and do the necessary configuration on the router, such as PPPoE, wireless, etc
